The lake inspired a famous song by Claudio Baglioni and is also featured in the theatrical production of the Longane di Lozzo.

Lake Misurina was the venue for the speed skating events during the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo, marking the last time Olympic speed skating was held on natural ice.
