Primo Prosecco! - We picked up a rental car in Venice at Piazzale Roma (Which is where the vaporetto's stop for you to take the bus to Marco Polo airport). We headed for the Strada del Prosecco (Prosecco Road) a wine region specializing (but not limited) in exactly that! We were astonished at the ease of accessibility. It was an easy 1.5 hour drive partly on a freeway - with tolls, partly on beautiful small country roads to get to this UNESCO World Heritage site. Scattered along this 47 km route, you will find wineries from humble one room tasting facilities to large modern tasting rooms with 360 deg views over lush vineyards. You will pass some of the most beautiful valleys & steepest hills covered in vineyards facing every direction. The midday day, 12 noon to 2.00pm siesta - where wineries and some restaurants close need to be considered when planning your trip. Thankfully we found a restaurant in the town of Guia called Ristoro Fontanazza that was open and served a delicious lunch. I will write a separate review, as this one deserves special mention! Back to the wineries - we did not taste only Prosecco, but also fabulous whites & reds. In fact every wine we tasted was of an incredibly high standard. In addition to the exceptional wine, the service we received was 5 star. We understood & could speak limited Italian, so was so appreciative of every one along the way speaking to us in English. You will not be disappointed! Saluti!

Memorable day in a beautiful country with a most gracious host - May seem strange to refer to our guide Marco as a host but that indeed reflects the intimacy of the experience. While obviously knowledgeable about wines he quickly read our group of 4's thirst about Italy in general and his commentary addressed a wider interest. We visited two vineyards. The first was a small producer in a beautiful location and the owner personally showed us the operation including peering into vats - something impossible in the states. Oh and the Prosecco was delicious at approximately $8 a bottle. We bought 6 bottles which never made it out of Italy. Lunch at a small restaurant in a lovely village was a highlight. The owner conversed with us for an extended period of time with Marco serving as translator. Wine, meats and pasta were all produced on site and were delicious. Expresso topped with grappa was very good and the Amaro the owner offered us at the end was smooth and not bitter. The second winery was a larger establishment but we still received the personalized attention of the owner and shipped a case home. While shipping is costly, the quality merits it if you like Prosecco. In between we visited a little restored mill with a water wheel that also sold a very tasty dessert wine unique to the town. We plan to serve it after our meal on Christmas Eve. All along the way the scenery of the Veneto area is stunning. Lastly, before the trip I thought the price was a little steep. After the trip and in comparison to other day trips we took, I consider it a very good value. Thank you Marco for a wonderful day.

Fun day in Prosecco - Marco made this day incredibly enjoyable. He was full of information, extremely knowledgeable and a joy to listen to. Marco went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and do whatever he could to make our day a pleasant experience. We had a wonderful day learning about how Prosecco is made in this region and highly recommend this tour.

Amazing Wine Tour of Prosecco Valley - Marco was an amazing tour guide of the region. We booked the tour in a group (I thought), but we ended up being the only two people on that particular day, so Marco drove us up for the hour and a half up to Prosecco region. On the way, we had an unexpected stop at a small cheese shop that Marco knew, which was an awesome surprise. The first winery we stopped at was fantastic. And, the stop for lunch was incredible. The osteria was closed for the day (because it was Monday) but we were welcomed with some really fantastic home-cooked pasta. And, the wine was the best bottle of wine I have ever tasted. They even gave us a red to try once we drank the white. We drove to the second winery, which was unfortunately closed, because it was the most beautiful spot - luckily, Marco was quick on his toes and we drove to the next one, with no issue. Marco was knowledgable, kind, and a wonderful tour guide. This was one of the most memorable days of our two week trip. The only recommendation I'd make is to go on a day Tuesday - Sunday if you want a more traditional tour. The Monday tour was so nice because it was very private, but if you're hoping to get the most out of the trip, you can likely see more going on a different day, but that is just my hunch. Book this tour! It's amazing!

Lovely wine tour - We had a wonderful tour with Marco. The drive to the wineries was beautiful and the ride was comfortable. Marco educated us along the way about wine and Italian culture. We enjoyed prosecco from two different wineries, sampled delicious cheese from a cheese shop and had an outstanding lunch at a local restaurant. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a unique wine tour from Venice.

Wonderful trip with Marco - Marco picked us up opposite the Tronchetto People Mover station and we went to two Prosecco wineries. It was a wonderful experience and the drive through the hills was very enjoyable with wonderful views. It was a snowy day and the scenery of the vineyards covered in snow was very different from what one typically sees. Tastings at both wineries were excellent with a nice range of vintages. The restaurant we stopped at had great home made local Italian food with wine and Marco was an excellent and friendly guide. Although I've given this five stars, there could have been better attention paid to the pickup location. It was a very cold and windy day, with freezing rain and sleet in Venice. We did not want to be late based on what was mentioned in the requirements so we ended up early and due to traffic and weather, Marco was a little late. We ended up waiting for about 45 minutes in an open bus shelter where it was extremely cold and windy with nothing around. The several requests made to the company for Marco's mobile number were not accommodated. Had we been given it, we could have informed him that we were waiting in a more comfortable place -- either the water bus stop or the parking garage where there is shelter, toilets and a cafe. I would highly recommend that a more comfortable pick up place be arranged, Marco very kindly dropped us off at Piazzale San Roma so it was easier for us to get back to central Venice.

Loved this Tour - Since my husband and I love prosecco we really wanted to take a tour during our visit to Venice. This tour was one of the highlights to Italy. Marco’s directions and meeting place were easy to find. He explained lots of things on our way to the winery. The scenery is breathless once you get there. On the way he brought us to a fresh cheese shop. It was lovely and the cheese was delicious. After the first winery we had lunch at a local place. The food was delicious and the staff accommodating. I highly recommend this tour if you want to experience something different in Italy.

Prosecco wine tour - My sister and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Europe! One of the cities we toured was Venice. We had an awful experience arriving, but as soon as Marco picked us up he changed our entire mood. We had a wonderful private wine tour! He was very insightful and made our trip to Venice worthwhile. I will be recommending Marco to all my friends!

A Sparkling Tour of the Prosecco Region - My husband and I booked a tour of the Prosecco region while we were in Venice. Marco picked us up right on time at the troncetto and took us to three lovely wineries. At one we were able to try Prosecco that had been done in the original method by fermenting it in the bottle. Delicious and nothing we can get back home. We stopped for lunch in a charming village and ate an amazing meal at Osteria al Contadin, a family owned restaurant. We met three generations of the family. The food and wine he selected were impeccable. Marco stopped at scenic points along the way so that we could take in the hillsides. It gave us an appreciation for the challenges faced by those caring for the vines and harvesting the grapes. This trip was a perfect addition to our time in Venice!

Wonderful private wine tour - Had a terrific day with Marco this summer. He picked us up on the west side of the city and we had a nice, albeit somewhat quiet ride into the hills of the Veneto. Marco surprised us with a stop at a Fattoria or cheese “factory” for a quick snack - what a great treat. Our first winery was Col Veteraz in Valdobbiadene. We tasted a number of great prosecci, then walked through the vineyard and up a trail overlooking the Cartizze hill- the most prized soil for prosecco. After that was a delicious lunch in the quaint hill town of Combai (and more prosecco). To wrap up the afternoon, we stopped at a prosecco cooperative, and were able to taste a number of prosecci from different producers in the area. My only criticism of the entire day would have been to stop at another winery instead of the coop, but we were able to taste wines from 5 different wineries which was certainly an advantage. Overall, a great day tasting prosecco and would highly recommend a tour with Marco.
