It was fantastic! They... - It was fantastic! They are multi-lingual which is lovely, and amazing to this one language American😆 They are lovely people who are amazing artists and help you make a pretty mask! What a fantastic souvenir!! You won’t regret this! It’s an intimate little shop so your experience is made that much more enjoyable because you get to watch them put the finishing touches on everyone’s masks, watching the masters at work!! And the selection of their masks on display for inspiration!

The Venetian mask-making... - The Venetian mask-making class was an absolute highlight of our trip to Venice! It was so much fun and truly an unforgettable experience. Learning about the rich history of Venetian masks, seeing the incredible designs, and then creating our own was both fascinating and rewarding. The hands-on process made us appreciate the craftsmanship even more. This was a unique and special part of our visit, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an immersive and creative experience in Venice!

Mask painting - We worked in a tiny shop with Nicolo. There were a variety of mask shapes from which to choose then we chose which colors we wanted to use. Nicolo gave instructions along the way. As we were working, he talked a bit about the significance of masks in Venice. Once the background was painted by us, Nicolo added the artistic finishing touches.

Great activity for kids too! - We booked last minute for my 2.5 year old daughter and we all enjoyed decorating the mask. It’s a small shop, but very cozy. We had a great experience and it was nice to do something a little different that our daughter could participate in. Thanks!

Not Recommended - Not as advertised and do not recommend based on the description. Did not see any artisans, given no history or class on making the mask, and we were not at a mask shop but some room off the side of a museum. There were no professional masks in sight and the staff was rushing you to be done painting so the mask could dry within the alloted hour and fifteen minutes. It was more of an arts and crafts thing to do. It was still fun to paint a mask, and if thats all you expect then you can still have a good time (although listing should be updated and its not worth the price).

Tourist trap! Do not waste your money. - No instructions, poor quality supplies and no entrance into The Doges Prison, instead it was included entrance to an artificial torture museum in a small area of The Doges Prison. I was hoping to have some historical information about the different types of masks….none. I was hoping to have feathers, sequins, ribbons , etc to embellish the mask…none. We had cheap acrylic paints that were mostly empty and when Asked if I could have more white paint, I was told no, we don’t have anymore. When I asked if I could have something to wipe off my paintbrush, like a paper towel, he brought me 3 small squares of toilet paper. In addition, the paint brushes were of such terrible quality, it was like someone had raked the bristles along the concrete sidewalks. I was told no less than 3 times, “we only have 1 hour, you must hurry!” Granted the completed my mask in 45 mins. This was not worth the money or my precious time! Wish I could get a refund!
