Family trip with the family - We were very lucky to experience a fantastic tour of the Venetian islands of Murano and Burano with our guide. Even while visiting the glass factory on Murano, our guide inspired us with incredible knowledge and passion. The insights into the art of glassmaking were fascinating, and we felt we were getting a real inside look at the traditions of glassblowers. On Burano, our guide showed us the beautiful, colorful houses that give the island its distinctive charm. He shared many exciting details about the history and culture of the island that we would never have experienced otherwise. Our guide was not only incredibly competent, but also extremely friendly and attentive. He managed to introduce us to the special magic of these two islands in a very personal and unforgettable way. We can highly recommend this tour and our guide!

Great company. Average content - This company that did the booking was excellent. They are really organized, their tour guides were excellent, and everything was on time. They had excellent instructions on where to go and when to be there. However, this tour was disappointing overall. I was very excited to go to Murano because I knew there is a very interesting history with regard to glassmaking and Venice. We got a very brief and minimal history lesson about glass on the way to the island. We were taken to a glass factory and this is where I expected to get a lot of really good information about glass making in Venice and its history, etc. However, we were given about a 10 minute, minimal demonstration of glass blowing and making of a solid glass figure. I’ve been to Greenfield Village in Michigan and visited their glassmaker and got a much more extensive demonstration about the art of glass making. After this very minimal and not very interesting demonstration, they took us to their showroom with very expensive glass, and I felt the sales people were somewhat high-pressure. Additionally, the island is not attractive, just filled with a bunch of touristy shops. The second island, Murano, was a nicer island to visit. Again, we had a very minimal, somewhat lame demonstration about lace making. It is a quaint island and it was lovely to walk around , and take pictures, but if you’re not into shopping, this is not the place to go. Because we didn’t get much history or information on this tour, I think we would’ve been better served, and we would have saved a lot of money if we had just taken public transport to Burano, walked around for an hour or two, and then taken the public transport back to the city center of Venice. If you like shopping, this may be your trip. But if you are looking for some good information about glassmaking and lace making on these two islands, don’t bother.

We're tourists, not commodities. - Being treated like a commodity. The start point was, once again, incorrect; we were informed it was pier 3 which evolved into a pier 2 departure. The guide was rather dismissive of us when we went to show her the ticket; she did not engage or show any interest in the party; given that Burano Island was a place of similar areas, she failed to give us a meeting point, instead telling us to meet at the boat in just over 90 mins which included a chance to get some form of lunch, in, I hasten to add, crowded places. Consequently, we were delayed, our experience wasn't fulfilled and despite being only three minutes late at the departure point, the boat left without us! Fortunately, we found our way back to the main island by public transport. We just wonder if she even knew because we failed to see her count us off or onto the boat. The guide had very little care, little concern, was cold in her demeanour and it seems she didn't want to be there. We also wish to point out that her narrative when pointing out places was inaudible.

Poor - I was most disappointed. First of all the heading reads ISLANDS of the lagoon tour, but we only went to Murano.. I wanted to see Burano AS WELL. How misleading. Second the guide could not be heard over the noise of the motor of the taxi. Third we had five minutes watching the glass blowing and hour and a half expected to buy from the glass shop. I have really enjoyed Viator tours before but am not happy after this one.
