Wonderful in spite of the rain - Our guide Hilary was exceptional. She spent the entire two hour tour giving us clear explanations of historical, architectural and cultural aspects of the Ghetto and its residents over the centuries. Our guide in the synagogue was equally impressive and of course the two Sephardic synagogues visited were beautiful.

Sylvia is the best tour guide! - Sylvia was an amazing tour guide! She really knew her stuff from the history of the Jewish ghetto to the current environment and modern lifestyle. We had the best time and enjoyed the meaningful Jewish history and her warm demeanor! Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful - Christina our guide was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and informative. I would recommend this tour! She was easy to find and even took some time at the end to show us a few more details/info.

A tour well worth doing - Very good tour, Clare was a great guide, full of energy, very informative about Venice, the area and the ghetto. Definitely a good way to get a feel for Venice and it's history.

Too old to stand - It was very interesting and full of history, but there was just too much standing for people who were older in age.

Challenging guides - The two synagoges were delightful. The two guides were a bit difficult to understand. The second one was abussive to a woman who wandered a little distance behind the group.

Excursions Depend on your Guide - The museum and synagogues were closed and our guide was not knowledgeable about the Jewish ghetto. It was mostly a waste of time except for actually seeing the parts of the ghetto I had read about.

Not a walking tour! - The problem with this tour was that it was NOT a walking tour! We stood in the square for a hour and fifteen minutes where the guide was showing us maps in a protected folder of the history of the area. In depth history lesson standing! The guide was nice and very knowledgeable but the setting was inappropriate for most of the attendees. Other than taking us down 1 side street to show us some markers in the ground commemorating people who were lost in the holocaust and then over 1 bridge out of the ghetto and to a place in the square that had some significant important art work, we stood. Then a second guide took us for 45 minutes into 2 synagogues. I believe she was “certified “ to have access to do this. She was less than warm and enthusiastic. It was disappointing.

Stayed too long in one spot for a walking tour - We were all looking forward to this very important tour of our Jewish heritage. Our tour guide meant well, but had us stay in the same spot for 45 minutes during what was supposed to be a 2 hour walking tour. It was extremely frustrating! Then when the synagogue tour started, a different guide came and repeated almost the same tour in a faster way with entrance to the synagogues. I would recommend only doing the synagogue portion of the tour.
