A wonderful and different Venetian Experience - My 13 year old god-daughter and I shared a double kayak, with our guide in another kayak, for the "Canals" experience pre-booked via the English version of the website. All the people we dealt with at Venice by Water were so helpful and kind. On the day we had booked for, we got lost trying to find them and our guide came to meet us and show us the rest of the way. It then emerged that I had forgotten we would need to bring our passports for ID! He very kindly arranged a session with one of his colleagues for the next day at no extra cost and she fit us in despite other plans. (Better to bring your ID the first time though, than to count on being able to do this!). It was a fabulous, unforgettable, experience, though a bit humbling that my young companion was better at it than I was!

Excellent kayaking tour and host (Edward); entrance difficult to find - Short summary is the tour was great and I would do it again. Our guide Edward provided great commentary on the 1-hr tour and was extremely polite and friendly. Clothes and shoes are provided if you want them, along with all the instruction and equipment needed. The only difficulty was finding the actual entrance. Google maps correctly showed the location but it took a lot of wandering around in the immediate area to find the correct streets & narrow paths to walk down to finally find the entrance. Give yourself extra time to find this once you're close.

These guys are the best! - This was the highlight of our trip to Venice. And that is saying a lot. Excellent customer service. My daughter, who is usually not very adventurous, agreed to do this and had an absolute blast. What a great way to see the "streets" of Venice and the Grand Canal. Can't recommend these guys enough.

They were pro with awesome casual attitudes! - This was so much cooler than renting a gondola, too. We took a one hour tour, and we had no problem whatsoever maneuvering along with our guide's tips, even crossing the Grand Canal. They provide absolutely everything you need, from clothing and shoes to lockers and safes for your things. Highly recommend, and would definitely do again.

These guys have got it sorted!!!! - When you arrive they supply a complete change of clothes ( and a secure changing room), waterproof gear and proper life jackets. The kyaks are really stable, there is no need at all to worry. They even supply a waterproof plastic pot in case you want to take your phone or camera. You launch into a little quiet canal and after a few learning strokes you set off to explore the canals of Venice from a completely different perspective. Our guides looked after us very well indeed. There are two main rules. Rule 1 Do not hit a gondola. Rule 2 see rule one. I would really recommend any visitor to Venice to do this trip! My only suggestion to the team would be that I wonder if they could carry head cameras to take photos of their visitors to e mail later on. Fantastic trip Guys. TY

People were asking us where they could sign up for it while we were kayaking under the bridges of Venice. As for attire, wear their stuff it will get wet. there are lockers for personal stuff as well. we did the 1.5 hour tour and it was just the right amount of time. also used the 2 man kayak so more pictures could be taken. Overall great time!

Wow! Such a unique way to see Venice... -
Wow! Such a unique way to see Venice! Phillipo and his crew were wonderful. They were very accomodating and patient. It was fantastic to travel slowly down the ancient waterways and view the canals up and personal. You actually cross the Grand Canal twice, and this was truly amazing and completely unlike the taxis or gondolas.

Kindly, they offer clothing to use and we did not use them. This was a mistake! No matter how careful, all six of us got a bit wet and the water is yuck. So, I would simply plan your day to return to shower after the tour.

I also strongly suggest the double-kayak with the foot peddles in the front. This way one person can easily take pictures. Plus, there are two people to power the kayak. I have kayaked probably a dozen times on lakes and rivers, but this type of kayaking is vastly different with the need for more precise steering in the canals, primarily to avoid oncoming and parked boats and gondola traffic. This is not for children. Listen to the guides as they are very helpful.

I would definitely do this kayak tour again!

I will do this again. Absolutely, fun... -
I will do this again. Absolutely, fun and adventure. Guide was great, not enough good things to say. Just a FYI, the description is a bit confusing regarding your attire. Wear whatever you want, they give you clothes to wear. Take an extra pair of undies though, you will get a bit wet.

I had a guide all to myself who was very knowledgeable about the ciy and it was a great experience along the side canals with the gondolas. Lots of small snippets of history and then some more adrenalin sections crossing the Grand Canal. Cant fault the experience!!
