• Basilica di San Marco - The religious heart of Venice, dominates the square with its imposing architecture made up of various architectural styles, from mosaics predominantly golden, marble, sculptures and columns.

Symbol of its facade are the 4 bronze horses that overlook the square. Anciently it served as the Doge’s Chapel and the Church of State.

The Basilica contains the remains of the Evangelist San Marco stolen by two Venetian merchants in Alexandria of Egypt
