To me, ‘exploring’ is synonymous with ‘uncovering’. Thus, explorers should always be eager to absorb new knowledge and crave … ‘more’. In Venice, they should strive to uncover the whole city and fully immerse themselves in it. They should observe the local practices and traditions, appreciate the art and handicrafts, relish local cuisine… in essence, they should enjoy themselves. And in doing so, they should remember the feelings they experienced (and the perspective of those who guided them). I’d like to guide you off the common trail, to uncover the enigmatic, tucked away corners of Venice that extend BEYOND St. Mark’s Square: they indeed INCLUDE St. Mark’s Square.
Looking forward to your company!
