WONDERFUL, SKILLED, PROFESSIONAL AND FUN!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! - The owner Elias runs a great business here and is WONDERFUL to work with! His crew are super friendly, knowledgeable and fun. We were visiting Cali from Georgia and my adult kids had never surfed (or been in the Pacific) and they learned quickly because of the great instruction by Justin and had a great time surfing for their first time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND these folks if you are in the area!!!!!!

You won’t regret taking a lesson. - I had a great time learning to surf. I was a little apprehensive as I’d never manage to stand up prior to my lesson but my experienced teacher had me standing within 20 minutes of entering the water. I loved every second and can’t wait to get into the surf again soon.

Fun afternoon surfing - I booked a solo lesson and I had the most lovely time surfing with instructor Jack. He was kind, personable, and encouraging out on the water. It wasn’t my first time surfing but definitely my first time in many years. I learned new tips for better form. I stood up on my first try! I also enjoyed a few long rides. The Mondos Beach site is truly beginner friendly. Gentle wave and a soft, sandy beach that’s shallow (less scary if you need to jump off the board!). You can get dizzy learning to surf if you get knock off your board a lot but the water was super easy to work with, I was able to last the full session. If you are a female traveling solo, I would recommend SB surf school. I felt comfortable around the staff by the van and with my instructor. It’s also not a super remote beach location, just less crowded. The location has easy access to the road, vacation houses nearby, and I noticed other surfers in the water.

Great surfing instructor and service - Our two children, ages 11 and 14, did a 1.5 surfing lesson with Tyler. He was fantastic! Very patient, kind and fun, and helped our kids get standing on their boards. The location of the lesson seemed very good as it's a long, gentle surf, which was perfect for beginners. My kids had a really great time.

Awesome day at Mondo’s Beach - Our grandchildren (12,9,7) had an amazing day learning to stand up & surf at Mondo’s Beach, Ventura. Their instructors, Audrey & Mark, were great with the kids. We could not ask for a better experience to share with them on their visit to SB.

Renting surfboards is also an option - We went surfing at Santa Barbara. My kids (17 and 18) have already surfed a couple of times and I joined them. Honestly, we should just have rented wetsuits and surfboards instead of booking a course, the lesson was a waste of time (very busy spot, the surf teacher - very sweet and friendly - was more yawning than giving any useful tip). Probably great if it's your first time surfing, otherwise rent boards and have fun on your own I would say.
