Our journey begins through a holm oak, an oak woodland and a vast pine forest (we engage in slow driving with pauses).
We abandon our car and proceed under another Scots pine forest until we encounter a beech forest and almost deserted summer meadows. Our return journey takes us through another pine forest amidst scree, over a pair of glacial cirques until we reach the Sanctuary (couple of springs en route, including the Fuente del Fraile) and then we descend to the parking area.
