- Strada dei Vini dei Colli Berici - Discover the charm of the Prosecco Region on our full-day wine tour, where you’ll visit one of Italy’s most renowned wine areas celebrated for its unspoiled nature, historic villas, and outstanding sparkling wines. Prosecco wines are Italy’s beloved sparklers, distinct from Champagne due to their unique grape varieties and the Charmat method used in winemaking. Few know that the Prosecco vine was recognized in the Veneto region around 1750, originating in Monteberico on the Colli Berici, near Vicenza, rather than the more famous Valdobbiadene and Treviso provinces. Our outdoor adventure will take us to the scenic Colli Berici Region, just a 45-minute drive from Verona. Our journey starts at a renowned winery known for its organic Prosecco extra dry rosè, set in a tranquil location amidst vineyards and a charming 16th-century estate. - Strada dei Vini dei Colli Berici - Experience the unique Charmat method used in crafting their Prosecco, resulting in a lively perlage and a pure expression of 100% Prosecco grapes. Enjoy a delightful lunch overlooking the vineyards, featuring local specialties such as fragrant extra virgin olive oil, regional cheeses, and seasonal treats. A main dish will also be served! - Strada dei Vini dei Colli Berici - We’ll explore and taste the difference between the Prosecco method and the Classic method (the Champenoise method). The key difference lies in the secondary fermentation process. Instead of moving the wine into the aging step, those using the classic method place their blended wine in bottles with a touch of yeast and some extra sugar. The bottle is sealed with a temporary plug and stored horizontally in a wine cellar. The wine then undergoes a second fermentation. This time, the temporary plug prevents the carbon dioxide produced from being released, trapping the gases in the wine and creating the bubbles that Champagne is famous for. All these facts and more will be explained, discussed, and experienced during our wine trip. - Soave - Panoramic stop at the Medieval village of Soave Borgo along the way.
