- Palace of Versailles - The chateau and gardens count among the most prestigious monuments of the world’s artistic heritage, and are certainly the finest and most complete achievement of 17th century French art. Former residence of the ‘Sun King’ Louis XIV, this sumptuous royal palace was home to three of France’s most illustrious Kings for over 100 years. The guided tour of the palace includes the State Apartments of the King and Queen, Royal Chapel and Hall of Mirrors, a richly decorated gallery which boasts 357 mirrors, french bay windows and crystal chandeliers.

Congregate with your guide at the base of the Equestrian Statue of the Sun King, Louis XIV in Versailles. After a warm hello from your guide, you’ll be escorted on a narrated tour through the Royal Apartments. As you traverse the palace, you’ll gain an understanding of its rich history, including its standing as the residence for three of the most renowned Kings of France for over a century.
After exploring the interiors of the palace and bidding your guide adieu, you’ll have the liberty to spend leisure time exploring the gardens; a magnificent 2,000-acre (809-hectare) park adorned with sculptures, fountains, and timeless formal garden layouts.
Should you choose to visit Versailles on a Tuesday or Friday, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the Musical Gardens show. Alternatively, if you plan your visit for a Saturday or Sunday, you can watch the Musical Fountains Show. (Do Note! Access to the Gardens is not a part of the tour package, and you should anticipate an additional expenditure for tickets to the Musical Gardens Show or Musical Fountains Show).

Tour of Versailles with Olivia with a small group - Olivia is an amazing guide! She knows her French history! We enjoyed spending the afternoon with her at Versailles. He is a very good storyteller. The day was more than we expected. Thank you!

Eve was great. - Eve was great. Explained everything that we saw on the tour of Versailles. Would highly recommend taking the tour. Didn’t take all day, and we went straight into the palace.

Great Tour - Very Accommodating - Our guide was super accommodating as we were 20+ minutes late due to horrible Paris traffic. We gave ourselves over an hour to drive out to Versailles but that is not enough. Once you get to Versailles parking is confusing and the property is very large. Give yourselves easily 90 minutes in advance of your tour time.
Once our wonderful guide rebooked us we had an amazing time. Audio tour was informative and easy to follow. Palace was crowded in June 2024 but not as bad as the Louvre and we were able to enjoy as a family of 4. Tickets to the gardens are not included but can easily be purchased at the end of the palace tour. Tour is approximately 90 minutes.

Versailles - In and Out - Andre was very knowledgeable. Tour group facilitators were organized and kept to a schedule. We were able to skip the line even though the venue was busy.

Guide Abet was very good.... - Guide Abet was very good. I would give him 5 stars. However if I had to do it over I would get the recorded tour. There is much more history that we could not get the story for in the time we had with Abet.
Also you need to be more specific as to where to meet. We used Google maps to get The spot you sent us. But the app put us 7 minutes away from where we actually met our tour guide at the king Louis 14 statue by place d’armes. Give a specific land mark so people can ask for information. We asked another tour guide who gave us directions where to meet.

Tour - Versailles is amazing but the tour is a cattle call with way too many people in the rooms. Our guide was very hard to understand even with the nice earbuds provided. Tour length was about right for our teenage kids. If you are into art history take a longer tour. If you are just wanting to see the palace that can be done on your own.
