Haukland Beach - Renowned as the most beautiful spot in Norway, featuring crystal-clear waters and white sand, this arctic paradise is a must-see. Visitors can pause to appreciate the natural beauty. It’s astonishing to think that Haukland is 200 kilometers above the Polar Circle, yet it feels like the tropics!
Eggum - Nestled on the seaward side of Vestvågøy island, Eggum is a fishing village situated between the ocean and the mountains. Facing the open sea, its landscape showcases nature’s might. The vibrant, small wooden houses near the ocean and sandy beach make Eggum an ideal location for capturing stunning photographs.
Henningsvaer - Often described as “Henningsvær, the place God built without surveyors and architects,” this is the most renowned and distinctive fishing village, also known as the Venice of the North. Spread across several islands, breakwaters and dikes connect the village. Until 1982, residents relied on a ferry, but now two bridges link them to Austvågøya. The area boasts many local shops and charming cafes offering homemade cakes.
Kabelvag Church - As boats approach the Lofoten Islands, the towers of Lofoten Cathedral are the first signs of human presence. For 900 years, fishermen have prepared for their Lofoten expeditions at this church in Kabelvåg. The Lofoten Cathedral holds a unique position, facing the Fjord.
Explore the Southern Archipelago
Ramberg - A must-visit, expansive sandy beach!
Hamnoy - Located on the island of Moskensøy, Hamnøy is a small gem in the south, featuring a picturesque port and fishermen’s houses on stilts, surrounded by some of Northern Europe’s oldest mountains. The charm and beauty of this small hamlet and its few residents are truly captivating.
Reine - Known as one of Lofoten’s most famous fishing villages, Reine serves as the municipal center in Moskenes. It is also one of Norway’s most photographed landscapes, inspiring countless artists.
Sakrisøya - On the return journey, a stop in Sakrisøya offers the chance to taste local fish and purchase regional products.
