A fun visit - We spent about a half day in the museum in November of 2024. It had a wide variety of activities and exhibits. There was a small tribute to Terry Fox, the inspirational Canadian runner, a Stonehenge exhibition, a “Modern Canadian “ exhibit of innovative products, an indigenous language experience and more. For younger audiences the “old town “ area could hold their interest and, maybe, the Stonehenge stuff but beyond that I think it’s the imax movies that would appeal. Our “Arctic “ movie was in 3-D (I think they all may be) and it was well worth the cost. The “City of the Future “ film looked like a “kid of all ages “ winner.

Worth a visit - Lots of neat history! Wooley is a fascinating reminder of just how small a human really is in comparison to mighty beasts of the past.

Definitely worth seeing! - Very well done exhibits. Leave yourself enough time to explore them all. The special exhibit was Stonehenge and it was incredible.

some outstanding exhibit - albeit limited - a few years was told that the 'Old town' exhibit would be eliminated. I wrote a protest letter. Much to my delight much of it was still intact and fascinated my overseas relatives, including the recreation of the shores and it's animals, birds, etc. - extremely well done. My disappointment, however, centered around not being able to see the indigenous exhibit which was not open while there.

A good museum!! - Stonehenge was good, lots of info, sometimes too much. Canada Modern was cute and brought back many memories! Glad to see part of Old Town is still there, no matter what, still part of our history. Jonathan Hunts lodge is impressive as always, but lacking in narratives relative to the poles.

Stonehenge exhibit was disappointing - This is our second visit. First was for the king tut exhibit which was awesome, this time was for the Stonehenge exhibit which was a disappointment. Other parts of the museum are worth it if you haven't been there before.

Where is the history? - Pros - Terry Fox Exhibit in the entry was very well presented. The Evolution of Modern Design was interesting. Cons - Years ago the grand entrance was taken away (a wooden First Nations carving of a hunt from a canoe) with incredible water features at each end. Now the entrance is very sterile. Like a hospital entrance with a high ceiling. We weren’t really impressed by the - Stonehenge exhibit- seemed very repetitive. - The First Nations exhibit has been pared down to just the longhouse and a language centre. The previous exhibit was fantastic. All the history is gone. The Cannery is gone, the mine is gone, the ship Discovery is gone. If you are going for nostalgia- it’s gone. As well as the history of British Columbia.
