A great transportation venue to both Victoria and Seattle for locals and tourists - I would recommend FRS Clipper for easy travel between Victoria BC Canada and Seattle Washington. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable. They offer a variety of meal selection and snack for both dinner and Breakfast. I really liked the blueberry oatmeal for my return trip to Victoria. We even had a wonderful sighting of J pod our Resident killer whales on our return trip to Victoria.

Sunset boat ride is fun stress-free way to travel - This was my last day in Victoria. My boat trip back to Seattle was in the evening (6pm check-in; 7pm departure). The Clipper boat ride to Seattle at night was a similar experience as to my morning boat trip to Victoria a few days earlier. The check-in and wait is similar to airline travel. Customs was so easy (at least for me), I thought there would be another checkpoint after we arrived in the US (Seattle), but there wasn’t. I wish they had A/C in the waiting room. I was very glad to have a hand fan that I bought in Chinatown. I had a window seat with empty aisle seat. It was beautiful to travel during sunset. Photos were a challenge because of wet windows (spray from the waves) and reflections of interior lights. I wish they turned off the lights a few times – like when we approached Seattle and saw the city and the Great Wheel all lit up. During the trip, we saw orcas heading in the opposite direction. They were on the move, so we only saw a little of their fins/backs as they swam by. Our boat slowed down for safety and to let us see. I was lucky it was on my side of the boat. There was no customs process after arrival – we lined-up to get off the boat and then were done. One note: the taxi stand was full of taxis, but they would only take people who were headed to the airport, maybe to downtown hotels. They refused to give me a ride home (I’m a local who lives 15 minutes by car from the pier). I walked to a well-lit hotel next door and ordered a Lyft. :-)

Organized and Courteous - Very organized! We checked in our bags early then we forgot our passports in our bags. The young man was patient and managed to find out checked bags so we could get our passports out.

Very convenient and comfortable - I appreciated how helpful the crew was in helping someone with a physical disability in both boarding and leaving the boat.

worst customer service ever-company abandons their passengers - We were booked for a one-way trip from Victoria, BC to Seattle. The day before our trip, we were sent an email telling us our trip was cancelled due to mechanical problems and they were also cancelling the trip on Saturday and Monday (ours was Sunday). They only make this trip once a day in the evening. There was a phone number to call and an email address. I spent 45 minutes on hold only to be hung up on. We finally had to walk down to the pier to speak to someone. They gave us a refund, but would not help us find another way to get to Seattle. There were others there that were having the same issue and had no where to go as their hotels were telling them they were full and these people had no where to stay. We were unable to rent a car in Victoria and put it on the car ferry one way, or rent one in Vancouver if we took the ferry there from Sydney and take it one way to Seattle or rent one in Port Angeles if we took the ferry there. We were essentially forced to buy last minute airfare for $400 a piece, pay $45 for an Uber to the Victoria airport and $85 for an Uber to our hotel in Seattle (we picked accommodations in both locations so we could just walk). We couldn't cancel our hotel or airfare from Seattle to Oakland at this point without loosing all our money and had to be back at work on Wednesday. We have tried to get the Clipper company to reimburse us for the difference of what it cost us to get to Seattle vs what we would have paid them and they refuse stating they are not responsible. The only thing they offered was free tickets to use the Clipper, but we live 2 states away and do not have plans to return anytime soon. If they were an airline, they would reimburse and help you rebook, but they will not. Terrible service!!! Abandoning your passengers is unacceptable. Many were elderly and unable to navigate the systems. Do not use this service!!!
