Highlights

At your selected tour time, meet at the corner of Belleville Street and Menzies Street, across from the Parliament buildings, where you’ll hop into your horse-drawn carriage and begin your leisurely ride.

Our Majestic Tour leaves from the side of the Legislative Buildings in the Inner Harbor passing by the Royal British Columbia Museum, Fairmont Empress, Victoria’s oldest Church and the restored St. Anne’s Academy. We then continue into Beacon Hill Park 62 acres of flowers, duck ponds and a wonderfully fragrant rose garden.

Our next view is of the spectacular Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. From here we meander back through James bay to the Inner Harbor, up Government Street to Chinatown and the Gate of Harmonious Interest and back through the Old Town of Victoria with its original waterfront buildings.

Your next breathtaking view is of the majestic Empress Hotel and our landmark Legislative buildings & inner harbor, ending back at the carriage stand.

Relaxing carriage tour! - Wonderful tour of Victoria. Our driver Katlyn was knowledgeable and just a joy. Her noble steed Tommy definitely has a mind of his own at times --LOL.

Fun way to spend an afternoon while learning about Victoria - It was an enjoyable and informative tour of older Victoria. Our guide was able to answer all of our questions and when she didn’t know she said we’ll have to look that one up. Chuck was an easy going and obedient horse. Love that he joined the dialogue at times.

A Great Introduction/Overview - The driver, Kelly, was very knowledgeable and engaging. She was patient with and responsive to our questions. My step-daughter and I would have preferred a buggy to the Cinderella carriage (I purposefully didn't choose the romantic itinerary) but it got the job done. Of course, we loved Dutchie, our 17 year-old Percheron/paint mix who powered the entire trip. I would recommend layers of clothing; our trip was early afternoon and it got quite warm in the open carriage.

Awesome experience - We took the capital tour carriage ride while staying in Victoria. Our tour guide Abbey, was amazing and her horse Lucas worked in sync with her. Abbey, was professional, knowledgeable, and personable. If you decide to go request the team of Abbey and Lucas, you will have a wonderful time!

A really nice way to see Victoria - My wife and I had a 4 hour stopover in Victoria, BC and decided this was a great way to enjoy our limitied time there. We took the 90 minute trip and it was well worth every penny. My wife loved it and I truly enjoyed it. I am embarrassed to say that I can't remember our driver's name but she was friendly, informative and a lot of fun (she is heading east in the fall to attend university, maybe Tiana). Our horse had tons of energy and we covered a lot of ground. The city is beautiful and the capitol at night looks amazing. (You don't go to Chinatown due to vehicle restrictions). We had reserved 9:30. We arrived at 9:23 and the tour started immediately upon arrival. It was a full 1 1/2+ hours and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants an enjoyable evening in Victoria.

A must - Quaint carriage ride with Kira And Zeke! Loved being outside, hearing the clack of Zekes hooves and hearing Kira espouse history and myths of the area. If you want a picturesque ride in a relaxing atmosphere…highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

Knowing the historical ... - Knowing the historical homes. Stained glass Very knowledgeable. Need to have a Mike for the driver. Not only the larger carriages. The driver was excellent.

Great way to experience a bit of Victoria and get some history - We boarded our carriage on a lovely Saturday afternoon. Our driver Emma was new but her horse Duchess was not. Emma knew the history which was wonderful but it was hard for use to hear with the other noises around us and us being behind her. We were a group of over 65 years, so hearing is a little more challenging anyway. Lovely tour and a great way to see the city before we started exploring on our on. The downside was I made our reservation online at least 24 hours beforehand through the Tripadvisor app on my phone and when we checked into the kiosk, the young man had no record of our reservation. However it was quickly resolved and we started our ride about 10 minutes late. Also note there are several companies doing carriage tours out of the same area, be sure to get the right kiosk.

Unique view of Victoria’s charm - Enjoyable view of Victoria from a horse-drawn carriage. Knowledge and fun guide gave us an idea of the history and personality of many facets of the city and its charm. Would do again.

Not a "Capital Tour" at all - Not what I thought I was paying for. The description of this tour says, "This tour includes all the highlights Victoria has to offer." Only you don't find out until you're on the ride that the city apparently doesn't allow the tours to go anywhere outside of basically the James Bay neighborhood. No Chinatown, no Downtown, nothing else So while the tour of Fisherman's Wharf and Beacon Hill park and James Bay was nice, it felt very drawn out. Our carriage ride felt like we went back and forth down a couple of streets in very near proximity to only extend a shorter tour without actually seeing anything of significance. I'd skip the tour of Fisherman's Wharf if I had to do this again and would suggest a shorter booking. Horse was nice though
