Day 1
The journey begins at 7:30 AM. Travelers are collected from their hotels and lodges around Victoria Falls and transported to Chobe National Park in Botswana, via the Kazungula border post. The drive from Victoria Falls to the border takes approximately one hour. After crossing the border, travelers will immediately start their safari activities at 9:30 AM. They can choose between a three-hour boat cruise or a jeep safari into Chobe National Park. The river cruise is a trip highlight, offering close encounters with amazing birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous elephants and Cape buffalo that come to the river to drink. The first activity concludes around 12:30 PM, followed by a buffet lunch at Chobe Safari Lodge. After lunch, travelers embark on an afternoon game drive or boat cruise, which is the ideal time to observe Chobe’s large herbivores heading to the river for a drink. Travelers return to camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the campfire and dinner under the stars.
Day 2
Travelers are awakened early with a quick cup of tea or coffee before heading out on an early morning game drive. This time of day is optimal for spotting big cats or the rare Wild Dogs, as they are still active and sightings are likely. By mid to late morning, guests return to camp for a delightful “bush brunch” and a siesta, with time to read, rest, or enjoy a refreshing shower. As the day cools, another afternoon game drive follows afternoon tea, revisiting good sightings or exploring new areas. Chobe National Park boasts a diverse range of wildlife, with highlights including cats and large herbivores like elephants and buffalo, as well as rarer species such as Puku, Eland, Sable, and Roan antelope, along with many more common antelope. The trip concludes with clients being dropped off in Kasane/Kazungula around 4:30 PM and transferred back to Victoria Falls.
