Victoria Falls, known as the “Smoke that thunders” in the local Tonga language, is the largest single curtain of falling water in the world, with 70% of its stunning views visible from the Zimbabwe rain forest. This rain forest, which experiences constant rain 24/7 due to the perpetual spray from the Falls, boasts a unique ecosystem. It is a botanist’s dream and a bird lover’s paradise, home to species found nowhere else. We recommend exploring just beyond the pathway and numerous viewpoints. One of the charms of this area is its lack of over-commercialization. In fact, standing by the Falls, your view will be much like that of David Livingstone, who first saw them in 1855. Walking around the Falls covers a couple of kilometers and can get very hot.
