A Serene Start to the Day

As the first light of dawn gently kissed the horizon, I found myself in the heart of Victoria, ready to embark on a journey that promised to unveil the hidden gems of Mahe Island. The air was filled with a sense of anticipation, reminiscent of the early morning train journeys I once took across the European countryside. My guide for the day, Randy, arrived promptly, his warm smile and the comfort of a spacious, air-conditioned van setting the tone for what was to be a leisurely exploration of this island paradise.

Our first stop was the renowned Mission Lodge Lookout. As we ascended the winding roads, the lush greenery enveloped us, much like the rolling hills of Tuscany. The aroma of freshly brewed tea filled the air, and as I sipped the warm, comforting brew, I was transported back to the cozy train compartments where I often enjoyed a similar cup, watching the world go by.
