Rio highlight - This was easily one of the most memorable experiences of my life—truly nothing like watch the sun light up this incredible city. The tour was well-run, the operators easy to communicate with, & the guide (Digao) very friendly. Can’t recommend it enough!

Incredible experience - Very nice experience with Digão, a joyful Guide who has at heart to share a beautiful experience and love for his community of Vidigal. The view is breathtaking at the top, and I keep an incredible memory with a lot of emotion. I still recommend asking for a helmet for the motorcycle party in Vidigal;-) I recommend this experience without hesitation! Thanks to the whole team

A MUST when in Rio - The best thing I did during my one week in Rio. Is the hike easy? No. Is it worth it? 100% Aaside from the view at the top, our guide Rodrigo was the best thing about this hike. He was so caring and entertaining, it was a blast spending all those hours with him. He has a lot of knowledge about the favela and the world in general. 10/10 would do again (but would complain on the way to the top, again :D )

Amazing Sunrise Hike! - My son (24yo) and I met our awesome guide Digao at the entrance to the Vidigal Favela at 3:15am for a sunrise hike to Dois Irmãos Hill. Moto-taxis took us about 2km up through the steep, winding Favela streets. Hike started right at the back of the Favela. Would not have felt comfortable doing this bit without a local guide. The path then led us up the hill, on one side overlooking the Rocinha Favela and the coast. We were accompanied by Spike, beautiful local dog who comes up most mornings apparently 😊 At the top, we waited out on the steep rock face ledge for the sunrise overlooking Rio. We were the first up there, but by 6am there was a crowd of about 50-60 people. Such an amazing experience, gorgeous sunrise, best views. 💖 Thanks for organising this Henry, the first of several of the tours we did with you. Digao was an awesome guide, helpful and very funny. Highly recommend Experience Rio and Henry for all your tours!

One of my favourite things I did during my time in Brazil! - Our tour guide, Rodrigo, was amazing!! I would give him 10 stars if that was an option. He was so knowledgeable of the ecology and wildlife, very friendly and excellent English. I liked that it was a smaller group (7 total) and would recommend the sunset tour as it was less busy and the views were breathtaking. I really enjoyed taking the motorcycle (driven by locals) through the favela - it was a great way to have some exposure and a lot of fun if you are comfortable on motorcycles. It was a pretty easy hike as long as you are moderately fit. Highly recommended!

Warning! Don’t book! - I never got to go! The info on trip advisor says to meet at 6:30am. I got messages once 6 before, but when I double checked the information online it said 6am so I planned for that. I was sent a message the night before after 10pm confirming 6am. I woke up at 5:30 am and saw the message attempting to confirm 6am. It was impossible to make that time because of the time it would take me to get to the meeting point, as I planned for 6:30am as is listed on trip advisor. I tried calling twice and sent several messages to figure out what to do as soon as I woke up and saw the message. I didn’t get a response until 2 hours later from Henry who seemed angry with me for being confused about his conflicting information. Henry also asked me the day before to cancel and reschedule because the tour was “busy”. I told him I couldn’t. He is not offering me a refund, and again just seems angry. I would definitely look elsewhere. I’ve been on many tours in several countries and this is the first time it happened.
