Not to be missed - The foundation was formed in 2022 by Heidi Horten, widow of a wealthy Austrian entrepreneur who had done business with the Nazis. The museum displays masterpieces of the twentieth century collected by the founder and her husband. For all the works is marked - as indeed in all museums in Vienna - the date of acquisition to signal that they are not property confiscated from the Jews and where the provenance is of this kind is indicated that the foundation has nevertheless reached an agreement with the family of the legitimate owners in accordance with the principles of Washington. The theme of the origin of the family’s wealth is addressed immediately at the entrance of the exhibition. The setting is impactful and there are works of the highest quality. Definitely a museum not to be missed.

An enrichment - The fantastic architecture alone, with its large, light-flooded rooms, inspires. The guided tour of the exhibition Light Sound Senses by a competent young art facilitator who fulfills his task with passion, who not only explains art but also makes it tangible, was outstanding. An enrichment for the mind that will continue to work for a long time.

A surprisingly beautiful museum! - The museum is bright and spacious. The staff are friendly. The collection is diverse and beautiful, the temporary exhibition of image and light is surprising. Too bad the shop is very modest. The images outside are fitting. Highly recommended!

Definitely the new art hotspot in Vienna. More modern and fresh than the well-known museums. - My visit to the Heidi Horten Collection was a fascinating experience that deeply impressed me. The collection offers a comprehensive insight into 20th and 21st century art. It combines works by important artists such as Gustav Klimt, Marc Chagall and Warhol. The architecture of the museum itself, housed in a former Archducal Chancellery building, adds to the special atmosphere. I will definitely come back and look forward to the upcoming special exhibitions!

One of Vienna’s most gorgeous galleries - A truly a amazing collection of stunning art which complements the adjoining Albertina beautifully. Housed in a stunning building the art is displayed sensitively and imaginatively. If you’re in Vienna then don’t miss!

Interesting exhibition - Beautiful architecture, interesting exhibits, but the line through the exhibition remains very vague, and the explanatory texts are too frugal (you are left with the feeling that Ms. Horten just bought all kinds of things together). The Tea Room is a bit hidden, but worth some time.
