Collection to remake your eyes - An incredible amount of jewels, you will experience just the glitz of the imperial family! Between crowns, sceptres, precious stones you go out dazzled!

A voucher is not a ticket - Be sure to look for the ticket hut that says "voucher" , not the regular ticket office. You will still need to stand in line for the voucher, but it's a much shorter line than the regular ticket line.

Excellent museum - It's best to buy tickets online. Otherwise you need to buy them outside (in the rain...). Or - there's a ticket machine inside... Note that you must deposit bags at the entrance. The museum itself is large with many great works of art. This isn't the MET in NYC or the Louvre in Paris, but for art lovers (especially on a stormy day...) it's a very nice experience

Stunning treasures - If you only visit one museum in Vienna make it this one. It reveals how breathtaking the wealth of the Hapsburg Empire was. A couple of hours will pass in a flash!

Good - The Kunsthistorisches Museum is highly recommended. Also the Treasury where the crown jewels of the monarchy are kept. From crowns to sceptres much to see.

Discovering treasures - I expected something more impressive from the jewels of the holy empire. I got a little overwhelmed by the poor lighting that I imagine is for preservation of the pieces.

Give it a go - Had an extra day in Vienna and visited the Art history museum. I am always thrilled to see another Vermeer, otherwise it was somewhat of a quick visit through. The Christmas market outside was lovely. The treasury was small but we got to see some amazing things, liked that!

Imperial Treasury Vienna in the Hofburg Palace - The Imperial Treasury Vienna contains the treasure collection of the Hofburg dynasty. Some of the unique collection includes a unicorn horn (it is long and doesn’t look like the unicorn horn in the movie), the Imperial Crown and the Holy Lance, agate bowl (the world’s largest cut emerald). Though comparatively speaking, it is less impressive than the other great museums at Vienna.

Thought this would be more interesting - Spent about an hour here but you could easily spend far more time at this museum if you listened to everything on the audio guide and read all the info provided. It was quite hot inside and only pockets of the museum seemed to have ventilation. Thought this would be a little more like London in terms of Crown Jewels to see, but this included far more clothing/vestments, small carved statues, and relics. Definitely some cool stuff worth seeing (see photos below), and we bought the KHM combo ticket because of all the museums included.

Museum Experience - Hard to figure out what was what and where to redeem the ticket, had to go back and forth between museums to sort it out. This was not clear in the booking details. I reached out to the company for support and clarification but got no response or help.
