Highlight of my trip to Vienna - What a wonderful museum - enjoyed every minute. Staff at the entrance were kind and helpful - unlike some of my other experiences in Vienna. I suggest going later in the day when it is lovely and quiet It was the highlight of my trip to Vienna.

Very nice collection - Very nice collection about an exciting period of art history. A rich and extensive collection. Beautiful spaces to highlight it and quiet for a visit on a Sunday morning.

Superb experience - World class museum. We went late in the day and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. 20th C modernist art at its best.

To enjoy Klimt, Schiele and the artists of the Viennese Secession. - Wonderful collection, especially everything related to the Vienna of 1900: Klimt, Schiele, Moser, etc. It's very worth it.

Great Museum let down by bureaucracy - The building itself is just a white block within the Museum Quarter, but once inside the exhibition space, the works are very well hung with space to enjoy them in open rooms. It is not very crowded despite having some wonderful examples of Schiele and Klimt (and other artists from the Modernist movements that started in Vienna). The staff on the entrance insisted on the shoulder bag being measured against a rectangle drawn on the wall to see if was allowable - something that never happened in any of the other museums visited (the rectangle has of course no depth - so presumably as long as the two dimensions of your bag are within the boundary, it can be a thick as you like!) As with other museums in Vienna, the ticket is a single entry. Note that the toilets are not within the gallery spaces, so go beforehand otherwise you will run foul of the single entry requirement. The café within the building has a toilet (shown on the symbols on the gallery walls) but you need a entry ticket purchased at the desk (not one self-printed or a digital one on a phone) to enter the toilet AND TO LEAVE THE TOILET. These petty requirements are of course just administrative, not aesthetic, and could be handled far more sympathetically. That would improve the visitor experience. Of course they do not detract from the quality of the art exhibited here.

Good rainy day visit - On our last day in Vienna and with rain forecast, we spent a couple of hours at the Leopald . It’s a very spacious museum, and had two special exhibits when we visited. We opted not to have the audio tour , but made our own way round to spend more time on works we enjoyed . I think we are spoilt in the UK by having free entrance to most of our museums, so it always seems odd to pay , 17 euros each was a fair price though Also there are lockers on arrival which require a 1 or 2 euro coin refunded deposit as no backpacks or large bags are allowed in .

Better than the Belvedere - We visited the Leopold as I wanted to see the Vienna 1900 exhibition. The Museum is very modern and minimalist, which I prefer as the focus is always on the art. It was also very peaceful and less of a tourist-trap than the better known Belvedere gallery. One can enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed in any way. The exhibition was fantastic- even if Schiele isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty of Klimt, Kokoschka, and Secession/WW artists and designers. I was most impressed with the extensive collection of Josef Hoffmann.

More educational rather than visual experience - The exhibition may present some interest from the historical perspective of Austrian secession movement, personal role/contribution of Gustav Klimt and his indeed very diverse talent. The other artists work apparently reflects the "state of minds" at that time in Austria/Vienna but are not artistically or visually compelling.

Total confusion at the gate and ticket counter. Ugh. - It was supposed to be a “skip-the-line” ticket, but no one seemed to know what to do with our voucher, so we ended up standing around for 20 minutes or more as the employees struggled with how to grant us entrance. It wasn’t crowded; we could have breezed through the ticket buying process at the museum. If you’re a big fan of Klimt and artists/artisans of his era, you’ll enjoy the collection. Otherwise, it’s just okay.
