Fascinating museum of Design and Innovation - Very interesting museum of design and innovation in a fabulous building. The exhibits were fascinating. Do not miss the Klimt art display in the Vienna 1900 collection. We visited the AUT NOW 100 × Austrian Design for the 21st Century exhibit. Fascinating. Be sure to check the current exhibits before you go.

Storm Boris Weekend - I always enjoy visiting museums with textiles and other applied arts. This museum wasn’t very large but it highlights some particular Austrian arts and crafts. We visited first thing in the morning so it was not crowded at all. We stopped for coffee before leaving and the cafe was packed! Obviously a popular place for Saturday brunch.

What cute glasses I bought - I loved this museum. Very interesting. A very pleasant experience. I advise you to visit. It has rooms where you can interact. You can't leave without sitting on the sofa at the entrance 😂😂

Very Different Museum Experience! - The MAK was not crowded on the day that we visited (April 25) so we probably could have skipped the "skip the line" tickets which we purchased but they guaranteed our visit and made our entrance effortless. The MAK was a very different museum after the many we visited and would not be at the top of our list. However, the building itself that housed the collection was gorgeous and the Klimpt works of art (which were on permanent display) were well worth the visit.

Recommended for all! - What a brilliant place. A museum for all ages, kids included! Super friendly and attentive staff. There was a huge sofa kids could climb on. A wonderful jugendstill exhibition and a brilliant design lab.

Very interesting museum - eccentric of course but very interesting and eclectic museum. Not to be missed in the neighborhood: the former Ministry of War and the Post Office building.

If you have time to visit only one museum in Vienna, I think this is the one - Exquisitely well curated museum of applied/decorative arts that offers profound insight into the soul of Vienna.

Viennese furniture from the 900s - The exhibition includes art nouveau chairs and Biedermeier furniture. Also baroque and rococo rooms. The most important Attraction however is the Gustav Klimt frieze.

Frustrating display, terrible audio guide - This museum is trying to be inventive in the way they're displaying the items, but it just becomes confusing and makes for a frustrating viewing experience. They let contemporary artists display portions of the permanent collection. One artist just threw things on the floor in no apparent order. I believe the permanent collection should either be displayed by era or by category (e.g., here's how tableware design transformed over time). Do one conceptual presentation as a special exhibit, but for god's sakes, leave the permanent collection arranged in an accessible way. They did away with wall text in favor of audio guide, which is in theory a good idea. But the audio guide was unusable. I chose the option that claims: press play and put your phone away; we will guide you through the rooms. Hardly! After an overview of the room, it starts talking about a specific item. Which item in the room is it? No way to know. You have to reach for your phone and find the tiny image and run around the room to find it. Very hard, in the case of lace items, where very square of lace looks the same on a tiny image. I then switched over to the option where you swipe a pattern in dots in order to access a specific item's audio description; many of the patterns I tried to swipe were not recognized. You have to reset playing speed each time you press play. Also, it seems that they tasked AI to create the voiceover, since many words were mispronounced in a robotic way: "comb" was pronounced "coom", "baroque" was "barock." Very disappointing. I love applied arts, but this museum seemed focused on preventing me from viewing them. Their cafe is great though. Worth visiting even if you skip the museum.
