Highlights
  • Mozarthaus Vienna - The Mozarthaus Vienna presentation covers three floors.

The exhibition on the third floor delves into Mozart’s private and societal life in Vienna, inspired by his own words from a letter dated April 4, 1781, to his father Leopold in Salzburg:

The second floor’s exhibition focuses on Mozart’s significant musical peers and his collaborations with librettist Lorenzo da Ponte on the operas

Mozart’s Apartment, the highlight of Mozarthaus Vienna, is situated on the first floor.

This is where Mozart and his family resided from 1784 to 1787. It was during this period that he composed the renowned opera and three of the six Haydn Quartets. This apartment stands out as the most spacious, luxurious, and costly one Mozart ever lived in, and it remains preserved to this day.

Great Museum - I have no idea why this museum doesn’t have better reviews. It’s a must-do. The audioguide is a great companion to the informative exhibits. The museum does a wonderful job of drawing you into Mozart’s world and highlighting some of the pivotal compositions he was working on while living in this very spot.

A must see for music lovers. - Audio guide was good, you do not need to bring your own headphones which was a plus. Don’t expect a restored house that looks the way it did when Mozart was there, but they are honest about the details that lead them to display it the way they did. We spent 2 hours here lingering through the different rooms listening to the guide.

Mozart Lives ! - Many of the older posts are pre renovation. I thing the renovations are quite recent As of May 24, it is open every day except mondays. It is very interesting, the audio guide is great. The 3D hologram, although small, is spellbinding (the Magic Flute was playing) The life of Mozart seems to be an enigma, and this is well captured in the displays plus audio commentary. Will worth the experience. Easy online booking experience.

For what? - No offense to some...interesting visit with audiophone in French. The visit begins from the 3rd floor and let yourself be transported into an "atmosphere", into 18th century Viennese society, into the life of Mozart. The cost of this audio guided activity is far from expensive compared to some others that I have done and which have disappointed me.

Rather boring - The visit could be produced to make it so much better and more interesting for the layman. Not recommendable if you're going there to increase your knowledge about Mozart. It's one of those things I wouldn't bother to go to nor recommend. My daughter found it boring and even though I didn't say anything to her, it was exactly how I felt.

Super disappointed - Bad experience we arrived a couple of days ago to visit Mozart's house in the possession of Vienna P. we arrived at 5.30pm and they kicked us out when it says everywhere that it closes at 6pm. A very arrogant and rude boy who spoke Italian with long hair insulted us by saying that he couldn't stand Italians anymore that he was from Bolzano and chased him away shouting at us because we imposed ourselves given the indication that closing time was at 6pm considering that the Vienna p was expiring and that we would be satisfied with a quick tour. This also cost us 60 euros for two families the next day. If you don't have the Vienna p. Don't waste this money because it's just not worth it. Change the indication or write on the site last entry 5.30pm

Boring… nothing to see, don’t recommend - Went to the one in Salzburg… much better. Please don’t waste your money. There is legitimately nothing to see. No items or furniture or anything cool you are probably wanting to see. It’s all writings on the wall and signs that you could read on google. If you are adamant about going, definitely don’t take kids, it’s boring.

Disappointing - The museum's offering is very poor compared to expectations and the price paid. Inside there are no original and captivating elements (apart from a few pages of scores) and the audio guides are long-winded and not very relevant to what you see. Not recommended.

Terrible museum - Probably the worst museum that I’ve been to in my life. Full of nothingness and conjecture. No furniture or substance. Only a stupid audio guide that spoke of objects that “might have been” in this house. Save your $12 and get a Wiener schnitzel.

Biggest disappointment in Vienna! - Biggest disappointment in Vienna! You might as well buy a book by Mozart than waste your time here. Few attributes to view and the furnishing of the apartment is based on assumptions, absolutely not recommended!
