During your visit, you can also explore the Abbey church and the garden pavilion. After approximately an hour in Melk, continue your journey through the Austrian countryside, passing lakes and mountains, to your next destination, the charming town of Hallstatt.
- Hallstatt - Nestled between mountains and a lake, Hallstatt is famed as one of Europe’s most photographed villages. During your approximately 1.5-hour visit, you can visit the Skywalk 360m platform for breathtaking views, stroll along the Promenade into the colorful town center with its numerous small shops, and enjoy local delicacies by Hallstatt lake to make your visit even more memorable.
- Lake Wolfgang - The route from Hallstatt to Salzburg offers spectacular panoramic views of the lakes in the Salzkammergut region. We will provide a photo break opportunity at Lake Wolfgang in the town of Sankt Gilgen. Feel free to ask the driver for any additional short stops along this route to capture the picturesque scenery of the Austrian lakes.
- Salzburg - The tour continues with a visit to Salzburg. Upon arrival, independently explore the UNESCO-protected Old Town, the Mirabell Palace Gardens—used as a filming location for the popular “Sound of Music” movie and the “Do-Re-Mi” song—or enjoy a spectacular view of the city from the Hohensalzburg fortress. Surrounded by mountains, Salzburg is renowned as Mozart’s birthplace, and you can try Mozart chocolate, available only in Salzburg. After concluding our day in Salzburg around 17:30 - 18:00, we will drive you back to your accommodation in Vienna, where your day tour with us began.

Austria - Perfect Day.... our driver showed us all the best places plus more. Never rushed and our driver allowed us take it at our own pace so we could enjoy more.... well worth the journey and will definitely be back

Our trip to Salzburg was... - Our trip to Salzburg was memorable with two major stops in Hallstatt and Melk. Darko, our guide, was so friendly and nice, we enjoyed the journey with him, he introduced us to some hidden gems on the way and was very helpful. This tour is highly recommended especially with Darko.

Leisurely travel in Vienna - Excellent experience travelling with Mr. D as he is popularly known. Very informative and yet flexible to travel in private tour to suit for the day trip from Vianna to most popular spots.

Great day trip for 1st timers. Darko is the best! - Darko was such a vibe! The private day trip to Melk, Hallstatt and Salzburg was great and we especially loved Hallstatt but Darko made it even more awesome and memorable. It was like a road trip with a friend! He was entertaining, had good recommendations for us to maximise our time, made sure we stuck to our schedule and most of all (and this is definitely the most important one!), he let us sing our hearts out to our favorite Taylor Swift songs while on the road. It definitely did not feel like we were traveling with a stranger who had to complete a job. He made sure enjoyed every moment of the day. Absolutely recommend requesting for him when you book this trip.
Of course, the day was worth it - if not because of the bad weather when we reached Salzburg. Nothing that anyone could have controlled in any case.

Great day trip with Darko! - We loved our day trip! Definitely a lot of time in the van, but Darko was an amazing guide. Very personable and made the trip so much fun!! We loved him!
As for the tour.. I would say you could skip the Melk Abbey and spend the day between Hallstatt and Salzburg. We felt a little rushed in Salzburg but overall it was definitely a 5 star trip!

Amazing Private Tour - We had a wonderful trip with Mr. Davor. The car was comfortable and clean. He was extremely knowledgeable and guided us at every city that we explored with him. Mr. Davor was very accommodating. Halstatt was the most beautiful place and loved the small city. Over all we have a great trip. I would recommend to take this private tour. It’s worth the time and money spent.

Will not use the same tour operator - The entire experience was bad to say the least. Our entire group was totally dissatisfied and frustrated with the entire tour and lack of engagement by the tour guide
