Don't regret the cold I suffered to go to Belvedere - We visited Upper Belvedere for the Klimt exhibition. But we were also amazed by this beautiful palace. Although it was winter, the gardens are glorious and you can easily imagine them at spring, full of flowers and with their fountains running. The palace interior is magnificent, with frescoes on the ceilings, huge staircases, amazing metal lamps etc. The art collection is also revealing and Klimt an amazing painter.

A must see of Austrian art - An excellent museum dedicated principally to Austrian art including Klimt and Schiele. Relatively quiet and much cheaper than the overrated Schonbrunn.

Brilliant as history and art - The Lower Belvedere is always a highlight. It showcases contemporary art that packs a punch. It's exhilarating and quality and very well curated. Plus the building is gorgeous and a remarkable backdrop. Then, there's the walk from Lower to Upper Belvedere which transports you to another era. And it's stunning every season. The Upper Belvedere is just a magnificent structure. It's grand, ornate, and breathtaking. The art is more traditional and modern. Of course the Klimpt collection is very good. And, far more than the Kiss warrants attention. Belvedere is a must see.

Klimt - Besides Klimt's paintings many works are worth a visit. The palace is very nice and probably in non-winter seasons the garden is very nice

Beautiful Klimt masterpieces, but crowded galleries - I am glad that we splurged to see the Klimt paintings. In person, they are much more awesome than the pictures you see elsewhere. The rest of the collection was enjoyable, too, as well as the architecture of the building and the grounds. However, even in the middle of January, there were sizeable crowds in the galleries. I don't know how enjoyable this place would be in high season.

All nice in person, but the app and the virtual guide... In short: - Despite the incredible context and the exceptional works, the visit to the Belvedere museum is conditioned, at least for those who buy the audio guide online for a surcharge of €5, by a user experience that is not easily accessible: both the website of the audio guide and its app are not well usable for visiting the museum. In fact, the audios are divided into themes and not along the museum route. The result is that you find yourself frustrated because, as you go along the halls, you can't find the corresponding descriptions of the artworks encountered along the way.  As much as I tried to use the app and the site, even through contextual research it is difficult to trace the artworks.  In addition, there is also no possibility to use the dedicated number for the traditional physical audio guide that can be rented once inside the museum.  The same applies to the QR code on very few works and not usable by the website that does not allow zooming. It doesn't get any better in this regard even using the app.  For this reason I find it regrettable that in 2025 in such a museum, and with a price that is not insignificant, there is not the same care for the user experience in the app and digital than that reserved for the context and the works of the museum.

Great art gallery - Excellent art gallery with many different artists' work to see. My favourite is Klimt's The Kiss but there are other great pieces by different artists. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful. - Museum that houses wonderful and famous works of art. The beauty then continues with the elegant outdoor gardens. Really recommended for art lovers.

Klimt, and something else... - If you like the painter Gustav Klimt, you should visit the museum (Oberes) Belvedere as there you will find his most iconic works. It is another of those hot spots of the city for the number of tourists who attract their paintings. In addition to Klimt's paintings there are some other interesting masterpieces, such as 'Napoleon Crossing the Alps' by Jaques-Louis David or the collection of busts by Franz Xaver Messerschmidt. The palace that houses the collection itself is also very nice and there are outdoor gardens perfect for walking.

A visit spoiled by a flagrant non-compliance with public health and lifestyle rules - The person in charge of collecting the €1 and cleaning the toilets of the upper lookout seems to live in the 60s, smoking at the H24 spout in a closed space in violation of all legal provisions on passive smoke. As far as I'm concerned, it was enough to rot my visit to this place.
