Wonderful architecture tour! - If architecture is your passion, then this tour is for you! Our guide, Annelie, was a wealth of information about Vienna Secessionism (Vienna’s brand of Art Nouveau), and about Vienna itself. We met outside a traditional Viennese café, where we found our jetlagged selves craving coffee. Alas, coffee “to go” is not commonly available in Vienna, where coffee is meant to be slowly sipped and savored over a newspaper (or several newspapers). Hence, the tour began with coffee and pastries (yum!) inside the café with Annelie giving us an overview of the tour and of Vienna Secessionism. Once on foot, we covered a wide territory (including a ride on the U-Bahn) and saw some beautiful and unique architecture. The Vienna Secessionist building was a highlight, and Annelie’s description of Gustav Klimt’s “Beethoven Frieze” inside the building was particularly helpful (note—entrance fee to the building is not included in the price of the tour). Wandering through Otto Wagner’s Postal Savings Bank was another joy. I highly recommend this tour for architectural aficionados!

Hihglights of Jugendstil or the New Art - The Bthoven Fies in the Sezession but as well the Majolikahouses near by the Naschmarkt. And last but not least the Zacherl-house in the downtown.
