It was an amazing... - It was an amazing experience - once in a lifetime. If you can try to time it on a night with no/new moon then do that. The view of the stars and Dino Flagella will be even better

Avatar like experience! - Amazing life experience like you are in Avatar the movie! Definitely worth seeing once in your lifetime. You will need to walk through deep sulphuric smelly mud to get into your kayak but it is well worth it. Fish jump and skim across water and sometimes into your boat. Bonus with all the stars you can see above as well as glowing waters below.

Get ready for an adventure at night. - Camera from phone will not pick up bio luminescent light. Our tour started of a little chaotic. We didn't know where to go then all of a sudden a tour guide showed up. Besides that it was a experience to remeber. Our guide gave us the history of the bio bay and it was very easy trip.. must do if your staying the night in vieques.

Great guides, poor scheduling — be ready for island time - Our kayak guides were fantastic—very informative and responsive. They were easily 5/5 stars. That said, everything else, from punctuality to communication, left much to be desired. Our tour was scheduled to depart at 7:00 PM according to our tickets. However, we received a text informing us that the departure was pushed to 7:30 PM. No big deal—it’s a charming area to walk around and explore. But when 7:30 came, we were still sitting under the gazebo with the rest of the group, waiting. Ultimately, we didn’t leave until 8:00 PM, with no updates or explanation during that time. The van used to transport us was extremely old, with torn-up seats, and the road to the bay was in terrible condition. While we understand that the road isn’t within their control, a heads-up about its condition would have been appreciated. Another crucial detail that wasn’t communicated was the need to wear shorts, as you’ll be walking calf-deep in mud after removing your shoes. Once we arrived at the bay, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the previous tour group to exit before we could begin. Upon returning, we waited another 15 minutes to disembark. This wasted time could have been used to further explore and enjoy the bioluminescent bay. In summary, while the guides were excellent (could not rate them high enough) the tour suffered from a general lack of communication, poor scheduling, and logistical issues that diminished the overall experience.

The pictures you see... - The pictures you see online are exaggerated and they set a wrong expectation. But it's a unique experience.

Disappointing Bioluminescence and Uncomfortable Transport - While the bioluminescence in Mosquito Bay was a sight to behold, it unfortunately didn't live up to the hype or the photos often seen online. Capturing the glow with a standard phone proved impossible, adding to the disappointment. Although our guide initially offered to take our group pictures, this didn't happen. The kayaking itself was enjoyable, but the experience was severely marred by the horrendous transport to and from the bay. Crammed into a small van with a large group, the journey was uncomfortable and on the return trip, we were even forced to sit on other people's laps due to overcrowding. The post-kayak foot cleaning was also inadequate, with a small hand pump proving ineffective at removing the mud we had accumulated. Other tour operators seemed to offer motorized pumps and a more relaxed cleaning experience. Overall, while the bioluminescence was somewhat magical, the negatives of this tour significantly outweighed the positives. **Recommendation:** If you're planning to experience the bioluminescence in Vieques, I'd strongly advise researching alternative tour operators who prioritize passenger comfort and provide accurate representations of the experience.

While the glow was not as... - While the glow was not as impressive as depicted in the pictures, it was still a unique experience. The operator's service was satisfactory, though there was nothing particularly outstanding about it. Overall, it was an interesting trip, but I would suggest managing expectations regarding the brightness of the bioluminescence.

A poor experience with the bioluminescence being the only saving grace - The mosquito bay itself was great. The weather was perfect for the activity itself. However, there were a whole list of issues that we noticed. When boarding, there was a minivan which had to accommodate 14 people. It was really cramped and people had to really squeeze in to make space. The ride takes you through a road that was extremely bumpy and could really unsettle people with motion sickness issues. Maybe, notifying people of that ahead of time could have been useful. The major pain point was right before the activity itself. We had to walk through a swampy area where your leg would be immersed in really dirty and wet soil nearly shin deep (our legs where covered with black soil at the end). It was disgusting and already set a bad tone for the event itself. The ride itself felt like a normal kayak ride with the bioluminescence. The guide was often too aloof and didn't seem to have control over the group. He was often too far away and the entire experience for the most part felt like a self driven kayaking experience. Most of his explanations also required all kayaks to be very close to each other to run the risk of not being heard. It could have been much easier if the guide had a mini-speaker to address the group. Overall, a below-par experience saved only by the bioluminescence which was wonderful to experience.
