Towards the beginning of the s. Construction began in the 12th century on what ended up being the most important temple in the medieval city of \’Avila. This basilica is located in one of the places where more archaeological remains have been found in the city, which denotes the importance of the area for the various peoples and cultures that populated \’Avila.\nSurprise yourself with its light and beauty when you enter its interior, something that you cannot even imagine contemplating its robust exterior construction. From its crypt to its cenotaph, discover with us all the secrets hidden in its walls!\n- Catedral de Avila - Considered the first Gothic cathedral built in Spain. Its tall and solitary tower stands out, which reveals the double function of this great temple. One as a house of God, the second as an important part of the defense of the city. Its famous cimorro is integrated into the wall as one more tower of it.\n- Palacio de Polentinos - Undoubtedly the best and most beautiful example to get to know Avila’s palace buildings from the 16th century. Building closely linked to military life. It was the former quartermaster academy of the army and currently houses the General Military Archive of \’Avila, as well as a very interesting museum of the Army.\n- Church and birthplace of Saint Teresa of Jesus - The Church of Santa Teresa is part of the convent of the Carmelite monks that is located in the same square. Is the best option. - It has been a great visit. At our pace and with interesting stories about the city, its monuments and its inhabitants. Absolutely recommended.
