Additional Information

With a dash of adventure in an incredible natural setting, we will unveil a secret unknown for many: the unique volcanic Pico wines, and the people who make it all possible. Intertwined with the local communities we curate encounters and tastings you wouldn’t otherwise be able to live, EXCLUSIVELY with independent wine producers.

This heroic wine comes from vines that grow from lava soil and flourish on the rock. All the work is done manually and none of this has changed in 500 years, when the first settlers introduced grape growing in Pico.

After our walk in the landscape of Pico Wine, to refresh our feet, we drive you to one of our favorite natural swimming pools, in an amazing setting or just lay down for a bit, exchanging more local stories and preparing your appetite for the next stop.

Finally, we take to a wine tasting in a beautiful setting with an emergent and promising awarded independent local producer.

You will experience all the landscape and history in your mouth!

Undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip… - We absolutely loved our Pico wine experience with Oh My Cod tours. Marina met us promptly at the harbour and immediately built a great rapport with us while giving us an overview of the day’s activities. As there was only my girlfriend and me on the tour that day, Marina explained that we could decide which activities we would like to spend more time on and we really appreciated this flexibility. We took a short drive to a stretch of vineyards and began an enjoyable stroll through the vineyards while Marina informed us about Pico’s history, its relationship with Faial, and the history and process of winemaking. Marina was extremely well informed and shared her knowledge in an accessible and engaging way. Her enthusiasm for the islands and winemaking was catching and we found it truly fascinating. After this, we drove to a couple of beautiful spots where we got to appreciate the varied landscape, before stopping for around an hour at a natural pool where we enjoyed a cool drink, a swim and relaxed conversation. One of the best things about the tour was how easily Marina glided between island expert and tour guide, and a friend to enjoy the experience with. We felt so comfortable and the conversation just flowed! The final part of our tour took us for a hearty lunch and wine-tasting. Be warned, there is a lot of food and it comes out in courses, so don’t fill up too much on the delicious bread! I am vegetarian and my partner eats meat and fish, and they were able to cater very well for both of us. The wines that we tasted were complex and led to much deliberation over tasting notes. We enjoyed both the food and wine immensely. Finally, it was time to head home. Marina kindly drove us to our guesthouse and offered to arrange a taxi for us that evening. The following day she sent information about the islands we were heading to with recommendations for hikes, restaurants and activities. To say that she went above and beyond would be an understatement. I don’t think there is anything else she could have done to ensure we had a more pleasant experience and we have been left with many wonderful memories of Pico. Thank you for everything Marina. I’ve been recommending Oh My Cod to everyone I meet! Good luck to you and Sylvia and I hope we meet again when we come back to The Azores.

Unforgettable Experience! - Our day with Silvia was terrific--she is warm, interesting, and knowledgeable. We walked through the vineyards by the sea "where you can hear the singing of the crab." It's extraordinary to see the grapes planted in lava, protected by low lava walls. We had a lovely swim in a rock pool, followed by an amazing lunch. Best of all though, was meeting Catia and tasting her award-winning wines under an arbor of kiwi fruit. I'm hoping we get a chance to meet Silvia and Catia again on this beautiful island.

Amazing wine - This was an amazing tour guided by Sylvia and Jose. We had amazing food and wine! We toured with another group of young ladies and it was so much fun to share the experience and learn about wine and food with others. The winery, ETNOM, was in a beautiful location. Highly recommend!

Lisbon tasty food tour - Fun trip that combines a tasty food experience with some city and cultural history lessons. Adriana, our guide, energetically explained what we were tasting and engaged the whole group in the entire experience. The group dynamic was great even though there were different ages and backgrounds.

Oh! My Cod the best tour ever! <3 - A day well spent that made all the difference on our trip to Pico! We got to know places, wines and tasted local 'tapas' that without Silvia and Adriana would not have been possible or would have been extremely difficult! They took us swimming at an incredible place and even lent us a snorkelling mask. Because the weather allowed, we had a delicious volcanic wine tasting from a local wine producer among the black rocks and kiwis and with snacks accompanied by local people! A trip not to be missed with people who in a few hours become friends and that we carry in our hearts! Thank you so much!

Incredible experience! - A beautiful walk! The place is incredible, with exuberant nature. Difficult to choose the best part: the walks, the wine tastings, the contact with the local culture, the swimming pools... Silvia, thank you very much for the fantastic experience! We all came back delighted :)

A day well spent in BEAUTIFUL and UNIQUE Pico Island ;-) - As a solo female traveler, I have to say that, I absolutely loved (LOVED ;-) this experience. It is not only a great way to dive into the Azorean Culture through tastings of the VERY UNIQUE Pico wine, sampling of a good bit of tasty local snacks, breathtaking walks through the vineyards, swimming in tide pools within the amazing volcanic landscape, but also an absolute perfect way to meet and mingle with other fellow visitors and local hosts. I wish I could stay longer in order to take full advantage of all the tasteful and careful recommendations that Silvia provided while leisurely taking us all into this beautiful journey into Pico island life style. Thank YOU so much for such a blissful day, Silvia ... I hope to come back and do this all over again with a special someone ... who knows! Hugs to all of you who took such great care of us during our tour.
