Nice relaxed day with friends - It was a very pleasant trip. Easy going journey with a good lunch and a short tour around the town. Perfect if you want a very relaxing day and are happy to keep yourself entertained. Good for groups.

A pleasant way to spend the day - Pleasant relaxing trip up the river to Alcoutim. The boat ride was relaxing, though would have preferred more commentary on what we were seeing as there were little villages and what looked like monasteries tucked away on the river shore and it would have been interesting to know what they are and some information about the landscape and history of the region. Stopping in Alcoutim we had a short and informative tour of the town before free time to explore before lunch. Lunch was delicious and plentiful with as much as you could eat and drink, as soon as a dish or bottle was emptied more was supplied. Starters were bread, cold meats and olives main course was bacchalau and a traditional pork dish. Dessert was a sort of trifle (I have a nut allergy so they made one especially for me without the nuts) To drink was red and white wine, 7up and water. The musical entertainment was good and not obtrusive. The journey back was just a s pleasant.

Good experience despite giving priority to foreigners. - Very good experience. Just one note: priority should be given to Portuguese participants in the explanations given upon arrival in Alcoutim and at the common lunch instead of giving priority to Spanish and English speaking participants.

No lunch as advertised and to be avoided on hot days. - The advertisement said that lunch was included, I was informed the day before that it was not, with a very direct "you know that lunch is not included, don't you?" I considered not going, just because of the notoriously unprofessional approach.
The crew was very kind and always kind.
The route is beautiful, but the shading screens are not suitable for strong sunny days. Becoming unbearable.
Inside the boat it was equally unbearable and people were visibly uncomfortable.
The only way to manage hydration was to use drinks sold on board.
It would be a good idea to invest in shading screens and fans or another form of indoor air conditioning.
