Amazing and intimate winery - My wife and I were on an unguided hiking/wine tasting trip through the Douro Valley organized by Portugal Nature Trails (highly recommend) and visited one of their suggested wineries Quinta da Faísca (Secret Spot Winery). The winery is small and intimate. The lady (Fernanda) who conducted our 1.5 tour and tasting was very knowledgeable and genuinely seemed happy to show us around and serve us their wine. Their facilities are beautiful and spotless. They have four cabins for rent and are planning a restaurant for their guests. Their wine was excellent. We tried two whites, two reds and a fortified wine (port). All were excellent. We enjoyed their offerings so much that we are having two cases of various wines and a port shipped back home. As a side note, they do not accept tour buses, and it made for a great experience. Less than a mile hike from the Secret Spot Winery, we passed another that had no less than eight tour buses onsite. There were people everywhere. If you are ever in the Douro Valley and looking for a small, intimate winery that really appreciates you visiting, you can do no better than Secret Spot Winery. Highly recommend.

Brilliant Afternoon - Had a great tour of the premises with Mario who was very friendly and informative .We tasted Lacrau Old Vines ,Secret Spot White the Garrafeira Red Cellar and a few more .It was fun, entertaining and really worth a visit. We had the Guys from Grapeland driving us in a 4 wheel drive vehicle which meant we could take short cuts over the mountains . I cannot wait for my next visit.

Fantastic tour and excellent wines - We booked the tour of the Quinta with a full flight of tasting of 6 wines. The guide spoke excellent English and was very helpful and knowledgeable and really made our visit worthwhile. The wines at the end of the tour were also fantastic and it was really interesting to taste them all and compare. Overall, I'd highly recommend this visit to anyone interested in some of the best douro unfortified still wines.
