- Cânion Itaimbezinho - The Cotovelo (Elbow) trail spans 6.3 km (round trip) on a completely flat path, taking an average of 2:30h (round trip).
People of all ages can enjoy the Elbow trail, which begins at the park’s headquarters. Most of the trail follows an old park road, with the remainder skirting the canyon’s edge.
Upon reaching the first viewpoint, you can witness the iconic view of the Itaimbezinho walls. The trail then continues along the canyon, offering different perspectives, particularly at the Elbow, which lends its name to the trail.
- Parque Nacional de Aparados da Serra - The Vertice Trail also starts at the park’s headquarters, featuring a shorter route of 1.4 km. It takes about 45 minutes to walk (round trip) and is easy enough for all ages.
Along the trail, there are lookouts where you can see the Cascata das Andorinhas, a waterfall approximately 200 meters high. This waterfall is formed by Arroio Perdizes, which later becomes the Boi River and flows through the rest of the canyon.
At the second viewpoint, you can see the Véu da Noiva Waterfall, with a drop of 289 meters. Its waters are formed by Arroio Preá, contributing to the formation of the Rio do Boi, a river that runs at the canyon’s base.
At the third viewpoint, both waterfalls and the beginning of the Itaimbezinho Canyon, shaped like a vertex, are visible, giving the trail its name. At the end of the trails, enjoy a refreshing picnic to recharge.
