Highlights

  • Paneriai (Ponar) - We will start from Paneriai memorial park, whre tousands of Jews from Wilna were killed.

  • Trakai Island Castle Museum - After the tour we will head to second capital of Lithuania, where today you can see the most beautiful castle in the Europe, on the island in the lake. Here will be possibility to have your lunch in traditional Karaim restaurant, or make boat trip around the lake.
    From October to May Trakai castle is closed on Mondays, only outside visit is possible.
    December and January Trakai castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, only outside visit is possible.

  • Kernave Museum-Reserve - After Trakai we will head to the first capital of Lithuania - Kernave, which is included to UNESCO heritage list, and has 5 hill forts left.

Great tour! - Such a great trip outside the city. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. It was great to see these sights and have a guide there to describe them. So happy that I signed up for this as I would’ve never seen these places otherwise!

Dive into Lithuanian history and nature - Excellent private guide with great communication skills and clear English who knew how to find the right pace for our family, including teenager, plus recommended a delicious lunch spot in beautiful Trakai and lovely boat ride around the castle. An interesting overview of historical sites close to Vilnus and time in nature while being driven around in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle with sufficient narration by a local. Top notch experience!

Great day trip! - We had great day trip with Bronius who was our guide and driver for this private tour. We had enough time to visit the three sites. We had a nice boat tour around the Trakai castle. He was very pleasant and a good driver. We felt safe with him. He had great experience! A recommendation for your tour description in Viator. Maybe you could add a time schedule of the day just to give an idea of the itinerary and how long the journey is.

Great day out: really added to understanding of Lithuania - Cyrus was a really great guide and very knowledgeable about the history of his country. We thoroughly enjoyed our jaunt through the ages from medieval castle sites to those in Trakai, and also gaining a better understanding of Lithuania’s difficult 20th century history caught between the Nazis and the Russians. The holocaust site at Paneriai was incredibly sad. Cyrus was happy to drop us off in Uzipis to continue our explorations and was very helpful.

A great day trip out of the city - This tour gets you out in the Lithuanian countryside side. Each place you visit is very unique and tells you so much about Lithuanian history from prehistoric times.

Interesting and varied day out! - Trakai Castle is a lovely tourist spot, good food, water - boat ride - and the castle. Kernave much quieter but interesting and great scenic views and history. Panerai, beautiful and quiet with an horrific past that needs to be remembered so it never happens again - very thought provoking. Giedrius was an awesome guide and so helpful and friendly.
