Happiness Bayou Tours w/Captn: George & De Pope Tavern - 10 STAR Review - If I could give 10 STARS I would, that's how much I LOVED this tour and the locals! Captian George and his wife Samantha were a breath of fresh air, just good people! Before we headed out onto the bayou, we chatted and had beers with the locals in Voilet, LA at De Pope Tavern. Samantha was incredibly welcoming and we loved the local stories and chit chat; thanks for the beers Mike :) Captian George took us out on a 2-hour tour that turned into about 3 hours as it was his last tour of the season, so we got a treat plus we got to see Captian George kiss an alligator! Loved this watering hole so much that we will be coming back again to have drinks and a tour earlier in the season. Great times for singles, couples and families and you can bring your drinks onto the boat.

SO AMAZING - Captain George is so knowledgable about everything, we learned so much on this Tour. As a louisiana native myself, George was teaching us things I've never heard of! Him and his wife Samantha are wonderful people and give an amazing experience! We also saw some really interesting wildlife on the tour. 100% recommend if you want a TRUE Louisiana Experience!

The fishing life on the Bayou - with Great stories and Crabcakes - Yay! Great morning touring Captain George’s neighborhood, the bayou near Violet! What a raconteur! We gained real insight into the crabbing life on the bayou waters. Have a crabcake with Samantha at their tavern. She holds her own in the storytelling! And the crab were caught by Cap’n George. Best day of our vacation!

Good times! - I took this tour with my father who is 80, and doesn’t walk very far any more. It was perfect! The boat is covered, so we weren’t just baking out in the sun. We saw 2-3 gators, a bald eagle, and Captain George invited us to see his camp cabin. Captain George is wall-to-wall, non-stop information. Entertaining and informative. For all you get, the price is very fair. I’ll look forward to returning with my wife & kids. Thanks y’all!

A bit of the Bayou - Sooo much fun learning about the bayou, hurricanes Katrina and Ida, local history and gossip! Captain George is a national treasure who just makes the trip worthwhile. We enjoyed playing pool and hanging out eating and drinking with the locals. The ride from NOLA was quick and easy.
