  • Skyline Drive - We will start out on Skyline Drive. With over 70 overlooks and offering stunning views of the Shenandoah Valley and the Piedmont region, it’s a haven for nature lovers. This breathtaking 105-mile scenic route along the Blue Ridge Mountains drive showcases diverse wildlife, vibrant foliage in the fall, and access to hiking trails leading to waterfalls and viewpoints, making it a year-round paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and photographers alike. We will spend the majority of our day on stops along this drive.
  • Bearfence Mountain - Bearfence Mountain in Shenandoah National Park is a popular destination known for its unique rock scramble and panoramic views. Rising to an elevation of around 3,480 feet, Bearfence offers a relatively short but thrilling hike that involves a rock scramble, where hikers navigate over and around large granite boulders. This exciting scramble leads to the summit, which rewards adventurers with stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley. The hike is about 1.2 miles round trip, making it accessible for many visitors and offering a memorable outdoor experience within the park.
  • Hawksbill Mountain - This hike leads to the highest point in the park, Hawksbill Summit, standing at 4,051 feet. This moderate hike spans around 2.1 miles round trip and offers a well-maintained trail that winds through the forest before ascending to the summit. Hikers encounter diverse flora and occasional wildlife along the way. At the top, a rewarding panoramic view awaits, showcasing the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley. It’s a popular trail for its accessibility and the breathtaking vista it offers, making it a must-visit destination for those exploring Shenandoah National Park.
  • Dark Hollow Falls - Hike to a captivating 70-foot waterfall accessed by a moderate 1.4-mile round trip trail. The path winds through a scenic forest along Hogcamp Branch, leading to the falls’ base, offering a serene and picturesque spot for visitors to enjoy the beauty of cascading waters amid the park’s natural landscape. This is one of the most favorite falls of the park!
