Highlights
  • St Nicholas’ Fortress - Protected by UNESCO, this fortress stands as a key Venetian fortification outside of Venice, originally built to defend against the Ottomans. Renowned as one of the most stunning forts on the Adriatic, it was constructed on the islet of Ljuljevac, which is now accessible by land. When it was built in 1540, the cost was equivalent to half of Dalmatia, amounting to 40,000 ducats. The fortress was crafted by the esteemed Venetian Sanmicheli family.

  • Sibenik - Šibenik, a historic Croatian city, was first documented in the mid-11th century in a record by King Petar Krešimir IV. The cityscape is dominated by its four fortresses: St Nicholas, St Michael, St John, and Barone. Among its 24 churches and six monasteries, the Cathedral of St James stands out as a unique monument of European sacral culture, entirely built of stone without any other materials. This cathedral, the work of Juraj Dalmatinac and Nikola Firentinac, is also under UNESCO World Heritage protection.

  • Prokljansko Jezero - Gavan’s Court is a notable site on Lake Prokljan, where historical remains such as walls, marble fragments, decorated stones, Roman bricks, lead pipes, and jewelry have been discovered. According to local legend, a wealthy and arrogant woman, a “gavanuša,” rudely dismissed an angel disguised as a beggar three times. In response, the angel flooded her court, creating Lake Prokljan. (gavan = rich, arrogant, haughty man)

  • Skradinski Buk Waterfall - After visiting Šibenik, we continue down the Krka estuary to Prokljan Lake and through the canyon to the base of Skradinski Buk, arriving at Krka National Park around 11:30 am. Here, you can take a break for swimming and touring the park, which includes visiting watermills, Skradinski Buk, the Jaruga hydroelectric power plant, restaurants, a souvenir shop, and relaxation areas. With its seven travertine waterfalls, the park is a natural wonder. Krka National Park covers the most beautiful sections of the Krka River and the lower flow of the Čikola River, rich in natural, cultural, and historical landmarks. Noteworthy is the Franciscan monastery on Visovac Island, situated on the river. The old watermills, now small ethnographic museums, offer insight into traditional wheat milling. The park’s main attractions are its seven waterfalls, with Roški slap being the most expansive and Skradinski buk the largest and most famous.

Fantastic national park! Must do if you enjoy nature and are in split. - I did not want to go on a tour with 50 + other people. Took bus from split skradin and the boat tour starts 200 meters from there (40 euros entry + 22 euros on bus return ticket). Best decision I have made. I went just after lunch and missed most of the crowd, had plenty of space and time to enjoy with no rush leas people and on my own pace. Skradin in a small town you can also have a drink food there while waiting for your bus to return. There is a bus each way almost every hour.

Wonderful full day excursion - Wonderful day... The national park is already impressive. However, there was no possibility to bathe... This could confuse in the photos

Great trip! - Perfect trip! Pleasant boat ride, the premium option is definitely worth it (we just bought one for our group) Mussels were lovely, so was the host. Slight delay when we arrived at Krka getting the tickets but I think that was due to a power cut in the whole country! Wonderful place to visit, wish you could swim in it! Really lovely day!

Excellent - We went with a family of four (kids 10 and 12). Booking and confirmation was really easy and communication was sound. The greeting we had was warm and friendly and the guide gave information in lots of different languages. The vessel is comfortable, journey was gentle and informative. If you only want to visit the waterfalls it is quicker to go by car but not as good. The fresh mussels, fully stocked bar and super friendly guide made this a special experience and well worth the money. 😁

Engaging, Beautiful - Excellent trip. The tour company did an excellent job giving you information while travelling to the park. The guide in charge of the boat was polite and funny and very engaging. We got a shot and some muscle to taste if you wanted, and they came around explaining the way we were travelling. The park itself is absolutely beautiful and definitely worth a visit before us touristst completely spoil it

Nice boat trip to Krka National Park - Great boat trip from Vodice to Krka National Park. Comfortable and comfortable boat with fine sun deck. Great we got fresh shellfish along the way, although they could make a little more out of the visit to the shellfish farm. We had enough time in the park before the boat returned.

Beautiful - Must do when you are in Croatia, top arranged boat trip where you could sit upstairs in the sun or downstairs with a breeze. Bar and toilet available. NB!!! Swimming is not allowed anywhere, not near the boat or the waterfall! The walk is quite physically demanding.
