Experience a close encounter with a family of Mountain Gorillas during our one-day Gorilla Trekking Adventure in Volcanoes National Park. This park is a sanctuary for the endangered gorillas, who have been protected through the efforts of the late esteemed primatologist, Dian Fossey. Tragically, Fossey was violently eliminated in her secluded Rwandan camp in December 1985, with speculations suggesting her death was tied to her conservation work, possibly at the hands of a poacher.
Our journey begins at 5:00 AM when our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transport you to Musanze.
By 7:00 AM, you’ll be signing in at the park’s headquarters where legal protocol will be followed and a briefing will be given before embarking on the trail.
During the tracking adventure, you are allotted 60 minutes for observing, photographing, or filming these threatened animals. The trail concludes with lunch and a visit to the Gorilla Guardian Village for a taste of local culture.
Eventually, our guide will return you to Kigali and drop you off at your hotel.
