The wine museum is located in a natural cave eight meters below ground.
The visitors of the museum have the opportunity to learn about the history of wine and the life of vine-growers in Santorini since the 1660s through an automatic audio guide,
available in 14 languages or a guidebook . At the end of the tour, we will taste the local wines produced by the winery .

  • Estate Argyros - Then you will visit the Argyros Estate

Argyros Estate was founded in 1903 by Georgios Argyros and is located in Episkopi Gonia, in Thira.
Georgios Argyros followed the traditional vinification way of Santorini, in order to produce wines destinated for local market distribution.
At the end of our tour we will do wine tasting of 4 different types of wine produced by the winery .

  • Venetsanos Winery - Venetsanos winery is located right above the port of Athinios, overlooking the magnificent caldera of Santorini.
    It was built in 1947 by Venetsanos family and became the first industrial winery on the island.
    Our wine expert will give us all the informations about local wines and we will try some of them watching the magnificent sunset .

Our first stop will be the renowned Koutsogianopoulos Wine Museum.

Nestled eight meters beneath the earth’s surface, the museum is positioned within a natural cavern. An audio guide service is available to the museum’s visitors, providing a history of Santorini’s wine and vine-growers dating back to the 1660s.

Next, we’ll be exploring the Argyros Estate.

Established in Thira’s Episkopi Gonia in 1903 by Georgios Argyros, the estate has always adhered to Santorini’s time-honored wine production techniques in crafting wines for local market distribution.

Finally, we’ll be dropping by the Venetsanos Winery.

Constructed in 1947 by the Venetsanos family, the winery is the island’s first industrial-scale venture of its kind. The winery offers a breathtaking view of Santorini’s splendid caldera.
