It was created when a cave roof collapsed due to the high temperature and erosive nature of the thermal spring. This unique natural attraction is part of Greece’s national NATURA 2000 network and is a classified protected wetland. Not surprisingly, it is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The trip includes the chance to swim in the warm lake waters, which maintain a year-round temperature of 22°C. These mineral-rich spa waters are also known to have healing properties.

Amazing view, experience, and food - Amazing! Our driver, George, was so kind and knowledgeable- he taught us a lot and helped us plan our trip further! Highly recommend- lunch was absolutely delicious with a stellar view

Great trip Athens Countryside - Great tour! Our driver was fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly and a good driver. We were active in choosing how the day went and each option in the package was awesome. Poseidon’s temple, the thermal lake and the restaurant suggestion created a very enjoyable day.

Great experience - Our driver Theo was very informative, gave us plenty of time to swim in the lake, and was just a pleasure to spend the time with. My wife and I were celebrating 50 years of marriage and the experience was fabulous. Highly recommend.

Stunning thermal lake - unforgettable experience! - This thermal lake near Athens was stunning and the personalised tour made it truly unforgettable .
I felt amazing afterwards. The lake water was crystal clear, perfect temperature for swimming and there were tiny fish that cleaned your skin! The guide Melinda professional and engaging, sharing insights into the history of the lake, of Athens and even Greek philosophy!
The tour was perfectly planned and the traditional Greek lunch was the best food I’ve eaten here.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for an easy, relaxed way to explore Athens and beyond!!!

Both attractions are an absolute must, simply stunning. Our driver Melina was the best. Highly recommended! - We loved our tour. Melina was honestly the best tour guide we’ve had on any of our visits to Greece. She was friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable, able to answer all the questions we had about not only the Temple and Lake, about all of Athens and more. Melina made us feel at comfort and ease, she had all the time in the world for us. Stopping off at any view points along the way. The Lake was relaxing and beautiful, but wish we had reserved and booked our tickets ahead, as we could have reserved a lounger each. The fish took a little getting used to, it was a strange experience to be immersed with a full body exfoliation, I would definitely go back. The Temple was stunning, very interesting indeed. Both places are a must when visiting Athens. We would book tour upon tour if we could guarantee Melina as our tour guide and had more time. she made the experience better than we could ever had imagined, with grace and ease. A wonderful day, exceeding all expectations. Our hotel was outwith the pick up vicinity but for a small fee arrangements were made to collect us from our hotel and dropped back off, making the experience completely stress free. Customer service second to none, very accommodating.

An amazing experience !!! - The lake experience was absolutely amazing and George, our Guide was fabulous 💖
We enjoyed the day very much.. it was lovely to wind down before we headed home.
The little fish were fun, it was a relaxing feeling.
The restaurant we were taken to for lunch was also fantastic, the good was delicious. I would highly recommend the excursion.
We both loved how knowledgeable George was, he made us feel very welcome and comfortable, we felt we had known him for years😃George made an amazing day even better, 10 out of 10 🤩🤩🤩

Organised trip - Thanks for arranging the trip and lunch afterwards. I would recommend that everything in the trip was paid for though. We still had to pay for entry to the lake. All in all the driver was friendly, amenable and informative. He gave us a small token of chocolates and olive oil though they took that away at the airport sadly!
Though we really enjoyed our day, I do wonder whether we may have saved a great deal by arranging a regular taxi to the lake and found our own place for lunch!!

Must go if you are travelling to Athens - We loved this so much we went twice!!! We made our way by public transport, it took an age with the metro and a bus from central Athens but it was worth it. The facilities are clean and the food and drinks were good. We are in the restaurant the first time and wish we had done that again the second time it is much better than the food sent to your deck chair. We did try to upgrade to the cabanas on the return visit, you need to book ahead. The vibe was chilled and it was a great day swimming in the lake or pausing to let the fish feed off you. I would recommend this as a must do on your stop in Athens. The return trip was in our last day in Athens, there was space enough to take our carry on cases, so after we checked out of our apartment we headed back for the day. It didn’t disappoint. Until next time.

Short but sweet - Our guide Mike was informative and friendly. For the cost of the tour you are not provided sufficient time at the lake. We chose to eat at the lake, so Mike used our extra time to show us other sites.
