Setting Out on a Norwegian Adventure

As a marine biologist with a penchant for water-based adventures, I often find myself drawn to unique experiences that allow me to connect with nature in a profound way. My recent trip to Norway was no exception. I had heard whispers of a hidden gem nestled in the Øvre Eiker Municipality, a place where the wilderness and wildlife come alive on the gentle currents of the Vestfosselva River. The Hokksund Beaver Safari was calling my name, and I couldn’t resist the allure of observing beavers in their natural habitat while gliding on a stand-up paddleboard.

The journey to Hokksund was seamless, thanks to the efficient local train service from Oslo. As I stepped off the train, I was greeted by our guide, a warm and knowledgeable individual who instantly made me feel at ease.
