Very Knowledgeable Guide - I highly recommend Ismail as a guide for Petra. Ismail is incredibly knowledgeable about Petra’s history and knows all the best spots to take photos 😄. We opted for a two day tour of Petra: Day 1 - Petra front door to the treasury ; and Day 2 - Petra back door to the monastery. I highly recommend a two day tour as it will allow you to slow down and take in the vastness of Petra. Another benefit of taking the two day tour is that you get to enjoy the beautiful back door trail that leads to the monastary, avoiding the ~800 steps that lead to the monastery from the front door. If you are short on time, I recommend just visiting the treasury and surrounding sites. You will get a better sense of Petra’s expansiveness. If you are looking to walk away with a greater understanding of Petra’s ancient and recent history, I highly recommend Ismail. Thanks for a great tour !

5 stars ⭐️ service!!! - We booked a 2 days private tour and transportation arrangements through Ismail. Transportation: relaxing and comfortable. Petra was HUGE. Needing at least 2 days to enjoy and appreciate the ancient city. Ismail was quite knowledgeable and we learned a lot from him. He paced well to accommodate my younger children , providing enough information but not overwhelmingly. My kids enjoyed the “Alien” theory. 😆 We wanted to try some local food. He brought us to this amazing place and ordered for us. 😘 Didn’t know he was also food tour guide. 😆 Thank you for going above and beyond to make my husband birthday celebration more memorable. Ismail made our trip extra special in so many ways. My kids still talking about the food. 😘 I would book him again in a heart beat!!!!

Best Private Guide for Petra and Beyond - Ismael Nas met us at the Allenby crossing from Israel to Jordan for a two-day tour of Jordan and Petra. From the minute we met him he was incredibly warm and friendly and very easy to talk to. He parked just outside the Jordanian crossing station parking and walked in, and found us as we exited the crossing bus. We were driving in minutes, and it was a pleasure to discover that Ismael spoke very solid English and had a lovely style of offering information. His rich descriptions at specific times as we were passing noteworthy sites -- he was aware of a plethora of sites and knew a great deal about them - were delivered in packaged moments so that the rest of the drive was relaxed and free for questions or relaxation. We passed amazing rock formations as we headed South along the Dead Sea. Immediately we were happy to have his expertise as it had rained and he knew what was safe to walk on as we accessed the sea. He gave us insights about Petra that I did not hear even from YouTube films that I watched when we returned, including where to see the eyes on the second Duchara God statue in Petra. Isamel's rapport with locals smoothed our way. He helped us check into our hotel (Bedoin upscale yurt) and came to get us there the next morning. He drove us a scenic route to Petra so that we saw amazing mountains with pigmy trees, Bedouin tents in outlandish places, and even baby camels. He took us to good food stops and also the best gift shop where we wouldn't be ripped off.
