Known as the Rose-Red City, Petra was the remarkable capital of the Nabataean kingdom, whose ruins were largely unknown to the world until Swiss explorer JL Burckhardt, disguised as an Arab scholar, entered the city in 1812. It is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Stroll through the Siq, a long, winding sandstone canyon leading to the magnificent Treasury. Discover the city, including the Street of Facades, the Roman Theater, and the Royal Tombs. After the visit, depart Petra for Wadi Rum.

Inhabited since prehistoric times, it gained fame from Lawrence of Arabia, who spent time there during the Arab Revolt of 1916 against the Ottomans. From the terrain, flora, and fauna, to the sites and the culture of the local Bedouins, there is much to experience in Rum, whether on a jeep tour, camel trek, hike, or even a hot-air balloon ride. In the afternoon, leave Petra for Wadi Rum, considered one of the most spectacular deserts in the world. Arrive at your desert camp, located in the heart of the desert, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night. The following morning, explore the desert in local off-road vehicles before heading north to the Dead Sea, arriving four hours later. Relax in the serene waters at one of the tourist beaches, bask in the sunshine, and experience the region’s famous mud from 2-3 before returning to Amman.
