Begin the day with a morning departure from Amman heading south to Petra, Jordan’s most famous attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Known as the Rose-Red City, Petra was the remarkable capital of the Nabataean kingdom, whose ruins were largely unknown to the world until Swiss explorer JL Burckhardt, disguised as an Arab scholar, entered the city in 1812. It is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Stroll through the Siq, a long, winding sandstone canyon that leads to the magnificent Treasury. Discover the city, including the Street of Facades, the Roman Theater, and the Royal Tombs. After the visit, depart Petra and head towards Wadi Rum.

Wadi Rum Protected Area - Recently recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Wadi Rum showcases unique natural beauty and cultural importance. Inhabited since prehistoric times, it gained modern fame through Lawrence of Arabia, who spent time there during the Arab Revolt of 1916 against the Ottomans. It is Jordan’s largest desert and one of the most stunning desert landscapes globally. From the terrain, flora, and fauna to the sites and the culture of the local Bedouins, there is much to see and experience in Rum, whether on a jeep tour, camel trek, hiking, or even a hot-air balloon ride. Arrive at your camp in the heart of the desert for dinner and an overnight stay.
