Here are some possible attractions you may visit (the guide will discuss the tour with you):

Burdah Rock Bridge - Jabal Burdah and its rock bridge are located in the southeast of the protected area. The 35-meter high rock bridge is one of the highest in the world and a spectacular sight. If you have vertigo, it’s best to admire it from the valley floor. For those who are reasonably fit, hiking and scrambling up to the bridge is highly rewarding. The journey takes about 1.5 hours and includes several great viewpoints. Jabal Burdah is home to various medicinal plants. From the rock bridge, you can enjoy incredible desert views.

Jebel Khazali - A narrow cleft in the center of Wadi Rum with Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, as well as petroglyphs of humans, animals, and footprints.

Wadi Rum - Visit our sand dunes. The desert is dotted with both yellow and red dunes. The highest dune is in Wadi Um Ishrin, but we prefer the one near Khazali canyon. Climbing this dune is easy via the rocks on the side, and the views from the top are stunning. The intense red of the dune against the deep blue sky is a fascinating sight. In this blog, we explore more about dunes and share our top 5 most fabulous dunes.

Why are there dunes in Wadi Rum desert? Dunes are a natural phenomenon found in deserts and near beaches. They form with lots of loose sand, wind, an obstacle, and a dry climate. Wadi Rum has all these elements.

Wadi Rum - Um Fruth rock bridge. This is one of the most photographed spots in Wadi Rum. The bridge is about 15 meters above the desert floor. With guidance and possibly some assistance from your tour guide, the climb is manageable. However, it can be challenging for those with vertigo or minor limitations. The narrow bridge can also be tricky, but the views over the yellow mountains of Um Fruth are worth it. Even if you don’t climb the bridge, it’s still worth visiting.

Wadi Rum Protected Area - Little Bridge. This spot is easy to reach and offers a beautiful overview of the valley. It’s also a famous filming location for the blockbuster “Dune.”

Additional Information

The ideal way to discover Wadi Rum is by walking and riding. Much like the ancestors of the Bedouins who reside in this region today, you will experience the stunning desert landscape. Wadi Rum is often referred to as “Mars on Earth” due to its blood-red sands and otherworldly sandstone mountains, creating a strikingly Martian-like environment. This unique setting makes you feel as though you are stepping onto another planet, even though you are still on Earth. Wadi Rum is a popular location for Hollywood films set on Mars, having been featured in movies such as The Martian (2015), The Last Days on Mars (2013), and many others.

Beyond its vast sand dunes and towering rock formations, Wadi Rum also boasts a remarkable array of natural arches, soaring cliffs, massive landslides, dramatic weathered formations, and narrow gorges.

We offer accommodations in authentic Bedouin tents, providing all the comforts in a serene camp within the protected area!
