Awesome awesome adventure! - The trip was fantastic! 6 of us went on the trip (3 couples). This was the last big adventure of our 5 week tour around NZ. Up to this point everyone of us had different top 1 or 2 things. Now all of us have the Riverside Adventure Kayak and Glowworm adventure right up there with or ahead of Milford Sound, Hobbiton, Star Gazing at Tekapo.
Riverside Adventures team were professional and courteous. They made sure that everyone was safe and comfortable in the kayaks before we set out. The paddling was pretty easy, anyone with a modest level of fitness and coordination could do the trip.
Our lead guide, Daniel was very knowledgeable and he shared a wealth of information about the area, the heritage, glow worms and even the stars.
We had great weather; only a few clouds and a light wind. We saw and heard a lot of birds. The stars were awesome too, but the glow worms were the show stopper.

Awesome - A totally unique and awesome experience to see the glow worms. Our tour guide Daniel was very fun, kept us safe, and shared heaps of information about the local area. It was a fantastic evening, highly recommend.

Great activity for all - This was amazing. So glad we took the opportunity to go on the glow worm tours. I can’t even say I had ‘real interest’ in them beforehand! Great teacher in Dan (?) who couldn’t have been more helpful explaining things. He made sure we were safe, well cared for and made sure we had a unique experience on the river! Amazing evening!

Unforgettable Kayak Tour Among the Glow Worms - My husband and I went on this guided kayak tour, and it was an experience we’ll never forget! Paddling through the darkness and seeing the glow worms light up around us was nothing short of magical – a true once-in-a-lifetime experience. The guides were professional and passionate about the area, sharing fascinating stories and knowledge that deepened our appreciation of the surroundings. We felt safe and well taken care of the entire time, which allowed us to fully enjoy the moment. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable nature experience!

Excellent tour, a definite must!! - What an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived until the end of the tour, we were mesmerized with the beauty of mother nature and the humor our guide Steve made it a must do tour. This is a definite must do tour. Loved it.

Amazing unique experience! - Such a spectacular activity to do while you're visiting the North Island, especially if you've seen the big caves before in previous trips like our group had - visiting the worms on water and in such a small group made for such a special and unique evening. A hidden gem - Great setup, great communication, great experience.
Such an amazing evening. Floating through the canyon seeing soooo many glow worms, even with a bit of it rain was truly magical.
Our guides Lofty and Jess, and Steve back at base were extremely professional, knowledgeable and funny. Floating in the dark on a lake was so cool and felt so safe.
The snacks and warm drink at the midway point were a wonderful surprise - thank you!

Great Waikato experience - My friend and I really enjoyed our kayaking experience at the start of August. The group was of mixed abilities and the two guides were very patient with those that were new to kayaking. Their humour and information about the area and the glowworms made for an entertaining trip.
The canyon you paddle down was stunning in the daylight as well as in the dark with the glowworms. The sky also cleared for us so we were lucky to see a a beautiful starry sky.
A great experience, different to just going kayaking, which I would definitely recommend.
