Visits to Glow Worm Cave and Hobbiton from Auckland. - Great experience. The tour operator plan and organize the two tours perfectly. The glow worm cave visit was fascinating and the local guide was knowledgeable and courteous. The visit to Hobbiton was very enjoyable. The visit arrangements were just well organized and well run. Well worth the 2.5 hours drive each way from Auckland. The lunch arrangements were also great! Highly recommended.

Wonderful itinerary- enchanting!!! - What a wonderful tour! The caves are so interesting and so much to learn there! Exciting and fun in the caves. The tour through Hobbiton is completely enchanting - walking through the shire and into the hobbit house was a dream, with so much attention to details and wonderful trivia about the making of the movies and creation of the sets. We actually felt sad when we had to pass through the final little garden gate. Also the lovely boxed lunch was delicious and per our advanced selection. Though the ride was long (over two hours) it was worth it and we were prepared for the long ride. My only complaint was that we were the last of our group to board the van and were squished into the back bench of four seats with only a partial window. We are large people and these seats would only be comfortable for a child! A short ride could have been ok but 2 hours each way was extremely uncomfortable for us. I think the tour capacity should be reduced by two people so the back row can also travel in comfort. Best regards and thank you for a wonderful day!

Review - Good fun filled day with lots of fun at Hobbiton. Glow worms in the caves was also a lot of fun. The cave was very elaborate and the guide was great also.

Fun day out! - Great fun and very well organized. We loved that we were able to see two key sights withing the same day. The provided lunch was of good quality too! Stewart was very professional!

Excellent tour, well worth the day - Stuart was our guide for the day. Very knowledgeable commentary about New Zealand history and local communities we passed. Very well organized. The cave visit was fantastic. We’re glad we chose this tour in particular. Very tasty lunch included. If you visit Hobbiton in summer bring plenty of sunscreen and water.

Above and Beyond - This trip was long, but SO worth it! Kiwi Wonder Tours went above and beyond. The Waitomo Caves were amazing, but Hobbiton is an absolute must and so much more than we all expected.

A fun way to spend the day! - Stuart, our Viator driver/guide was very accommodating and efficient, and quite knowledgeable about the geography along the route. The picnic lunch was very good. The two experiences-Ruakuri cave and Hobbiton were outstanding. Just be warned that it's a long drive from Auckland and you'll be outside for quite a while at Hobbiton. Take water and sunscreen!
