Unmissable experience - The tour was well organised and straightforward. All we had to do was be on time and the rest was taken care of by our driver.
The Whitney Plantation was unmissable. Informative and heartbreaking. Our understanding of this period of history, and it’s lasting impact, was improved greatly.
The small airboat tour was fantastic and so much fun. We met plenty of alligators and it was great to experience the swamp and all it’s inhabitants.
Totally recommend this tour.

Experiences Are Great! - Had soo much fun on this tour! Lary aka BamBam was an amazing tour guide; He was very sweet and caring towards us passengers. The Whitney Plantation was beautiful and full of so much sad but important history of slaves. The airboat tour was also super fun. Definitely recommend taking this tour.

Incredible experience! - The Whitney plantation tour was very impactful. This is more of an educational and historical tour vs what happened here specifically on this plantation. It definitely paints a picture of what happened in the enslaved era and lightly touches base on what went on within the home and on the property.
The swamp tour, however, was the highlight! We had an incredible experience, getting up close and personal to the gators in the Bayou. We had a really experienced guide named Ray, who is witty And was happy to share information On the gators. Absolutely recommend this company and this tour. It does not include lunch however and you are gone for the whole day. They did stop at the Oak plantation for about 30 minutes, just quick enough for you to grab a bite to eat. But stopping there and seeing this beautiful plantation from a distance was worth it.

Highly highly recommend this!! - This was a true highlight of our trip. Worth every single penny!
Whitney Plantation was so full of history and exactly what we hoped. The driver (Brett) was SO amazing. Just such a nice man. He was very clear about the details and the plan. And we really enjoyed his commentary.
We got to see Oak alley on this as well (not go into the tour, just visually visited the grounds)…. That was so awesome!
The air boat tour with the swamp and all the alligators… total highlight. We saw so many alligators and we totally enjoyed this experience. My husband especially.
Highly highly recommend this!!

The Whitney Plantation... - The Whitney Plantation tour is a comprehensive way to learn about all aspects of plantation life, including the impact on slavery. The history presented throughout is comprehensive and well done. The second part of this day was spent traveling a swamp on an airboat, visiting and feeding gators. Our airboat Captain Grant had a lot of information to share and we even got to see some baby alligators. Both experiences were well worth it.

Great visit to Whitney Plantation as well as a nice walk at Oak Alley Plantation - Our hotel concierge booked this for us, and we got a brochure that had Whitney Plantation checked. We thought it was supposed to be just to that plantation. Got picked up by a small tour bus, then went to the "meet up" point and the few of us joined another tour bus. At that point we found out people were going to various plantations: Laura, Whitney, and Oak Alley.
To be honest, we were a bit annoyed but went "with it". As it turned out, we were dropped off at Whitney Plantation first. We were given the self guided audio tour, went through the plantation with plenty of time. It was very well organized, a bit overwhelming at times. Lots of mixed emotions. Overall our experience was very very positive and felt like we were given enough time. Our driver continued to drop off others to Laura and Oak Alley.
At the end of our Whitney Plantation tour, the driver came back to pick our group up. We then picked up more people at Laura, before stopping at Oak Alley Plantation Restaurant & Inn. This is where we all met up again, for a brief lunch break to grab food from the café (no time for sit down restaurant). This area is lovely, we enjoyed the charming building and small fountain with lily pads.
Once we finished our lunch, we walked over to the Oak Alley Plantation. Past the public parking area. Walked down the iconic "alley" and got some pictures with the main house. At the departure time, we all got back on the bus. Driver informed us a short stop will be made, so people that wanted the swamp airboat tour (to Raging Cajun) could get off. After the short stop, we made our way back into town and got dropped off at our hotel in the French Quarter. We did not add the airboat tour, as the day prior we had already went with another company (much better facilities)
This to us, is really not a "tour" but rather provided transportation. The bus driver is not really a tour guide. Oh sure he pointed out various famous movie set mansions, but no one was with us at Whitney Plantation. We could have very well just hired an Uber driver to drop us off and pick us up. With that said, what we got was actually better than that. We got to see Whitney in depth. A glimpse of Laura, and walked that iconic Oak Alley stroll. Yes, a lot of time was spent waiting, driving, but it beat renting a car and navigating the roads here. Overall, we were happy with the day. We just wish it was explained to us better.
