- Swakopmund Jetty - The Walvis Bay tour begins at the Walvis Bay Harbor or Port, heading north towards Swakopmund. The journey passes Bird Island, the only manmade Guano Island, and continues into Swakopmund. At the Jetty, there is an opportunity to walk on the Jetty and the Mole while learning about the history of this charming German colonial town. The tour includes a stroll to admire some historic buildings.
- Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre - As the tour drives through the quaint town, visitors can see historic hotels and stations. The journey then continues onto the gravel plains of the Namib Desert, with the first stop at the Lichen field. This fascinating plant is a symbiotic relationship between a mushroom and an algae, and the tour explains how they complement each other and survive.
- Moon Landscape Viewpoint 4 - The gravel road leads to various viewpoints along the Moon Landscape. Evidence of lava flow periods and ice ages is visible all around, creating a feeling of being on another planet, like walking on the moon. The tour may also pass some uranium exploration sites and possibly spot desert animals like zebras or springboks.
- Goanikontes - Goanikontes is an oasis in the Swakopmund River, a significant historical site as it was the first watering hole in the desert from Swakopmund. It was also an old police post and a place where vegetables were grown. The tour shares the intriguing history as it passes through the dry riverbed.
- Welwitschia Plains - On the hard gravel plains where little else grows, the ancient Welwitschia plant can be found. This unique plant has no stem and only two leaves, adapted to absorb moisture from fog and minimal rain, and can live for hundreds of years. There are male and female plants, pollinated by small brown and orange bugs that inhabit them. Thousands of seeds are produced and spread by the strong prevailing winds. Nature’s wonders are truly remarkable.
- Dune 7 - After a long journey through the desert, the tour passes Dune 7 near Walvis Bay. Although there is no time to climb the dune, it can be viewed from a distance. The tour then returns to the Walvis Bay harbor.
- Walvis Bay - The tour stops at the Flamingos in the Walvis Bay Lagoon, home to over 750,000 birds, including 54 bird species. Palearctic migratory birds, pelicans, terns, and cormorants can occasionally be seen.
